Description of 1965 Chevrolet C-10 |
*. * Up for auction is a rare big window 1965 Chevrolet C10 that is a recipient of a complete restoration and it still looks fresh. This truck was purchased out of Asheville, NC and you can tell when inspecting underneath; its as solid as they come. I have a folder FULL of receipts as well as a 3 ring binder with work/receipts for the work performed. Thousands of dollars have been tracked and recorded during the build. The drivetrain is a stout 355/375hp crate engine from American Speed in Moline, Illinois. It is a street build, nothing crazy and does run on pump gas. The transmission is an automatic and appears to have been rebuilt in 2013 with a 2200 stall converter. This truck has power steering, power disc brakes (front), tilt steering wheel, and a retro digital AM/FM radio. It has about 3300 miles on the restoration. It really runs and drives very well, does not overheat and does have electric fans. It has aftermarket gauges but they are temperamental. The speedometer bounces up and down quite a bit and isn't exactly accurate. The drivability is excellent, it steers easy drives straight and sounds awesome. The wood bed is detailed very nice, at a cost of almost $900 to do the work. It has stainless steel strips installed. There are a few little blemishes I have pointed out in photos, some that are hard to see in person let alone photos. The body is very straight and the paint is awesome. The doors shut really well and don't need to be slammed.Glass is in great shape front, rear and side. This is a truck that was built right and with care. |
