Description of 1951 Chevrolet Bel Air/150/210 deluxe convertible

1951 Chevy deluxe, original convertible not chopped, registered, runs and drives excellen. My goal when building this car was to make it as mechanically sound and drivable for daily use with keeping as much of the history and originality it went through during its life, basically a good driving car that looks like its been pulled out of the field after sitting for decades, A 1979 el camino was cut up and used as a donor car for this 51 chevy, rebuilt 305 v8 700r4 trans, new edelbrock carb, el camino g body front clip and rear end with new ladder bar coil over setup, disk brakes and g body suspension up front with new springs and drop spindles, open driveline, power steering and brakes, xenon headlights, lokar shifter, classic instruments gauges, completely rewired with new 12v wiring kit, new floor pans out of the g body, new inner and outer rocker panels on both sides. Bluetooth stereo, new canvas top and powder coated frame, not those cheap vinyl tops, powder coated rims, new blue dot glass tail lights, new brake lines, new one piece bumpers, new dual pipe exhaust with short glass packs, new chrome grille, new rubber not installed yet, new carpet, new electric wiper motor, aligned at shop drives straight down the road, lots of new chrome and new parts, original paint, the list goes on... A lot of time and money went into this build, very rare, turns heads everywhere it goes.
It does have some rust.. the body actually has quite a bit of rust mostly in the rear trunk and passenger rear fender areas. You can tell that it was parked outside with the driver side up against a building most of the time because the passenger rear side is worse then the rest of the car. I can just picture this car sitting on the side of some old timers barn or house for the past half century with people always asking him if he wanted to sell it throughout the years.. always saying "nope".. and continuing to let it sit until he passed away and his kid finally let it go. The car was built at a plant in Maryland and spent most of its life in Pennsylvania so it has been on the east coast most of the past 60 years before being moved to California and undergoing over a year of restoration to bring it to its current condition. The frame was pretty sold and has the big X crossmember that all the convertibles had. The part of the frame that had the most rust was one side of the front rail which was cut off and replaced with the el camino front clip. Could use some new glass windows are cracked. If your looking to finish the body work and make it really clean it will need new bottoms of both doors replaced, they are completely gone, or better yet new doors, a new trunk lid and inner piece around the trunk, and both rear bottom fenders replaced. the hood is pretty solid with only a small rust hole in the front, theres a lot of pitting on the rear passenger fender. There is no inner front fenders in the front wheel wells. The back seat is not there and the rear of the interior needs to be finished, the door panels could also be redone better. There is no heat hooked up. All the top hydraulics and pump were junk so they were removed and it is currently only a manual flip top. The car currently has the radial black wall tires on it not the bias whitewalls, it rides a lot better.
Restore it or just drive it and enjoy it like it is. Either way there is nothing else like it on the road. It's a rolling piece of art. Be prepared to answer questions about it at every stop light and gas station. Thumbs up, smiles, and heads turning everywhere you go. This is 100% pure american history rolling down the road. Personally I like the way it looks and the fact nobody ever touched it with any bondo or primer. I have a lot of pictures of the build process I can send you if your interested just contact me.
