If you're looking for that car or color of car that you will probably never see another one, then this is it! There were approximately 80 pilot vehicles painted with two-tone paints for 1981 that were a test for a new process. These paints had codes that started with an "E" to identify them. 1981 was also the first year Corvettes were every produced in two factories at one time. The new Bowling Green, Kentucky plant produced its first Corvette on June 1, 1981 while the St. Louis plant was producing its last. This is also the time that the paint changed for Corvettes, going from lacquer paints in St. Louis to enamel paints in the Bowling Green plant, where this car was brought to life. Enough about Corvette history and a little about this car. This car was bought new from Mike Flannery Chevrolet, Inc. in Englewood, Colorado, from the technical, 1 owner. After a little research, this man thought he was the second owner, however he technically is the first as he bought it from one of the owners who used it as a demo and never registered it. He kept it parked in his heated garage in the small town of Story, Wyoming where it got maintained to the highest standards but driven rarely with only 50K original miles. It still retains its original drivetrain, a 4-speed manual pushing its 350 V-8 engine. It has all of the extra goodies...electric seats, windows, door locks, power steering, disc brakes, removable glass roof panels, electric rear window defrogger, electric twin remote sport mirrors, custom two-tone paint(original), aluminum wheels and a power antennna. It also has a high performance suspension kit on it. This car is in exceptional condition for its age and will make someone a happy happy person! It will come fully serviced and ready to enjoy! So this is what I ask if you are interested in purchasing this car. THIS IS A NO RESERVE AUCTION.... SO Please make sure your funding is in place before bidding. If you would like to come and test drive and inspect the car or have a pre purchase inspection done, that must be done prior to the auction ending. I am happy to help arrange shipping if needed but is the responsibility of the buyer. Please ask any and all questions prior to the auction ending. I can be reached by phone at 307-752-6033.
