Description of 1972 Chevrolet Corvette |
I have a nice driver quality 1972 Convertible Corvette. It isn’t perfect, but very nice for a driver car. A couple of highlights: · 1972 is the last year of dual chrome bumpers (helps with collectors) · Numbers matching original engine (350) (helps with collectors) · Both a matching paint hardtop (available for sale separately - $750) and a new black convertible top · Nice showing red paint (original color blue) · New carpet, door panels and stereo (retro look with modern sound) · Manual brakes, manual steering · Lights come up and down as they should · Several thousand spend in mechanical work over the last two years to get it running as it should · Good tread on the tires · Very nice after market stereo; designed to look like the original · Appraised value of $30k (I have the appraisal) · I currently have $27,700 in the car (I have all receipts) A couple of flaws worth noting. The soft top doesn’t align with the windows, about a 1/8” gap in spots. It leaks a little oil/brake fluid. Nothing material, normal for a 1970s Corvette. Numbers: Trim – 400 – Black Vinyl 945 – Paint Briar Blue VIN - 1Z67K2S501905 K – Made inJune1972 501905 – The 40,1905 car Chevy made in 1972 Engine Casting Number -12S501905 0330CKX 1 – Chevy 2 – Model year – 1972 S – St. Louis 501905 – matches the vin, engine original to the car CKX – Base 350, 200 HP Rochester Q-Jet Note – the white top in the pictures is the original (pretty beat up); the current new one is black.
