Description of 1969 Chevrolet Corvette |
1969 corvette convertible. l46 350 350hp 4 speed manual transmission with hurst shifter. It was painted approximately 30 years ago and still looks good. The paint is a pearl so it has a red hue to it when the light hits it right. It does have some minor imperfections but overall pretty nice looking. Has only had 7k miles in that time period and has been garage kept. The body is very straight and has little to no rust underneath. The engine starts and runs good. It does drip a little oil when sitting. The engine has an edelbrock torker manifold. different carb and headers that were also installed at least 30 years ago. The car was a factory side pipe car but the side pipes were replaced many years ago. The interior is in good to fair condition and is showing some wear and could also stand a good cleaning. Not much has been done to the car in the last 30 years other than oil changes batteries and tires. It does not have any glaring problems but if I was going to drive it a lot I would probably upgrade the suspension and re do the brakes. The tires are relatively new and are in good condition. It does not have many options other than power steering. The radio is an old aftermarket unit that doesn't work right. It does come with the original radio. Everything works to the best of my knowledge except for the windshield wipers and squirters. It has not been driven in the rain in 30 years so that was never a problem. The top is black and in decent condition although the rear plastic is now opaque and probably needs to be replaced. This would be a great car for someone that just wanted something for a local weekend cruiser. It could be driven indefinitely as is with just regular maintenance. It would also be a great candidate for a restoration and would look very nice black as an offset to the red interior and black top. That would obviously increase the cost of ownership and value. It is for sale locally so I reserve the right to end the listing early. It is an older car and is sold as is. I am not a corvette expert but. will do my best to answer any questions or send additional pictures or info. We purchased from the family that owned it for the past 29 years. They were moving out of state. The car is very fun to drive and gets a lot of attention. The sound coming from the side pipes is incredible. I had a gentleman look this over this evening and he noted that the engine is not original but a detuned (ckb) 350 from 1972. It has been modified from stock but I do not know to what extent. The car was originally white. The frame is in very good condition with some surface rust but no deep rust or cancer. As stated above this would make a nice driver or weekend cruiser. Like all of these cars if you wish to make it "right" your going to have to spend some money. |
