Description of 1971 Chevrolet Other Pickups

Please note if you are viewing this on a mobile devise there is a 6 min video and several pictures. I am the third owner of this truck. The original owner passed away and in 1999 it was put into storage by the second owner. I purchased it a little over a year ago and have been driving it almost every day. It runs great. I checked the compression and it was 140 to 145 on every cylinder. The turbo 350 shifts perfectly. The 4x4 works great. The trans leaks a little bit of oil. I think I have added about a quart over the last year. The engine also leaks some oil. I have to add a quart about every 500 miles. That really isn’t bad considering the truck sat since 99. It does not smoke. These are the parts I have added. New aluminum radiator. new performer carb and manifold. New shocks. New Pertronix Ignitor ignition. New thermostat and hoses. New front tires. Rear tires have about 1000 miles on them. It had 15” stock steel wheels when I bought it. I put the 15 x 8s on. The tire size is 32 x 11. 5 x 15. The brakes are in very good condition. It comes with new rear shoes and drums. I bought them in error thinking the rear pads were worn. When I compared the old pads with the new ones there was very little difference so I left them on. The odometer reads 32644. I am not sure if the engine is original. It is very nice to drive. It runs perfectly and starts every time. The steering is tight. the disk brakes stop like a modern truck. The temp gauge runs right in the middle even on 100 plus days. The oil pressure looks great. The factory air was removed at some point but I have all the parts to reinstall it. It has lots of little things that will need to be fixed at some point. The thermostat housing has a small leak. The heater core leaks and has been bypassed (I have a new one). The blinkers work but both brake lights are out. I haven’t looked into that yet. It has three tanks but only the main tank is hooked up. I am guessing the other two tanks are rusted and need to be replaced. The mufflers and pipe up to the manifolds are new but the pipe behind the mufflers needs to be replaced. The windshield has one pretty bad crack. I have really enjoyed this truck but my wife and I are downsizing now that the kids are out of the house. We are going to be moving to a smaller place with limited parking so I need to sell it. If you would like to come by and check out I am home most days. One thing I forgot to mention is the speedometer doesn’t work. It worked on and off up until recently but quite all together a few weeks ago. The odometer still works. The amp meter is also not working. The battery is about 6 months old. The engine is very smooth. There is no knocking or lifter noise. It doesn’t smoke.
