Description of 1968 Chevrolet Camaro SS |
Up for sale is my 1968 Chevrolet Camaro SS Convertible with its all-numbers matching power train, including the original 350 engine, 2 speed power glide transmission and 12-Bolt rear end. I found this car in western New York in 2011. It had been sitting in a garage since 1987 when it came to rest with 67K original miles. I am the third owner and the car has ZERO miles on it since it has been restored. This car has been professionally restored to almost original condition. Every nut and bolt has been gone through and every detail has been meticulous in preserving the originality of the car. The motor was completely rebuilt professionally by Schmidt racing engines in Indianapolis, IN, and hardened seats were installed so the car can run on unleaded gasoline. Highlights:
Please note: As you can see from the photos, the car is not 100% assembled. HOWEVER, I have everything ready to be installed on the car except the convertible top and interior carpet. This includes all original chrome that has been professionally restored to a mirror finish, all trim pieces, interior components, etc. I'd estimate the total cost to finish the car to be less than $5,000. This is being taken into consideration with my asking price. This is an investment. Once this car is complete it is estimated around $45-50K and the prices keep going up on these popular original classic American muscle cars. Please do your research on the rarity of this car. Many of the other classic Camaro's that are out there are either SS tributes or non-numbers matching vehicles, making the value of this car far greater, not to mention it's an original SS Convertible with its factory power top. |
