I am listing this pickup for a friend of mine. All info listed was given by previous owner. My friend (Bret) acquired this pickup from a person who was in dire straights financially and Bret helped him out by purchasing this pickup. Since Bret is looking for a convertible and does not have enough garage space for everything, he is parting ways with this classic. If you have a nice 1960's early 1970's drop top you would like to trade, let me know what you have. I looked the truck over today (16 Oct. 2016) and took these photos. The trucks body is in very good condition, the only rust I saw was on the drivers side cab corner(picture) I was not able to get under the vehicle very well due to it being lowered in the front and rear but from what I saw it is not rusted other than light surface rust on the frame. The fenders, cab, hood, bedside, tailgate and running boards are very solid. The truck has spent it's life here in eastern Colorado. There are no noticeable dents or dings in the body. It is the straightest original pickup I have ever seen in this year range. It was not a farm or work truck. It is believed to belong to a local school district. The tail gate is solid and not dented up. The original wood floor in the bed is in poor condition but it appears all of the cross members are intact. The truck has the original 235 with a newer head. It has a Fenton intake, cast headers, solid lifter cam, dual Rochester carbs and 4 speed tranny. The heater is not hooked up but is said to have a good, boiled out & pressure tested heater core. The spotlights are not hooked up, the wipers are not there, the cab lights do not work but all brake, turn signal, aux. gauge and dash lights work. It has a 6 volt electrical system with an 8 volt battery. The generator has been tweeked to work with the battery and keep it charged. It has new dual exhaust and 30" glass packs and sounds good. Upon cold start up there was no smoke and no noise from the engine. It did appear to be a bit cold blooded but idled nice within a few minutes. There were a few drops of oil or tranny fluid where the pickup sits inside of the garage but it looks like it may be coming from the speedo port in the tranny. Not sure on the leak. The previous owner put in a cab controlled spark plug igniters and coils on the rear of the exhaust pipes( flame shooters) . We don't know if they work but it looks to be all there and in good condition. The pickup has .new front brakes, bearings repacked, new driveshaft., newer brass radiator,, nice cab visor, headlight bezels, newer carpet, seats, door panels and headliner. All glass is good except the passenger door glass, it is cracked but intact. I noticed the right hand side e-brake is not hooked up, the speedo does not work, the original door trim and rubber is dry and cracked with some rubber pieces missing. The doors open and close good. The owner has not used the truck much as he just bought it to help someone out. He has taken it to work ( appx. 10-12) miles round trip on occasions and said it runs and drives pretty well. If you are looking for a very clean non rusted 54, this is it. It could be turned into a very nice rat rod with very little to no work or is a very good foundation for a street machine. The reserve is set low compared to a lot of the rust buckets I have seen. Please give me a call at 719-510-4582 if you have any questions, possible trades or would like to buy out right. Payment will be a 25% deposit within 24 hours of auction close or prior to end of auction, a wire transfer, a good cashiers check prior to letting the truck go and cash. I can stop this auction at anytime as I plan to list it elsewhere. Delivery may be an option depending on where you are and my schedule. I can deliver enclosed or open transport. Most of my auctions end early so give me a call and make a reasonable offer. Bret has a clear Colorado ready to transfer. Not sure on exact milage but I had to put something in the box and I believe this was close. It is said to have original miles. Truck is sold as is with no warranty.
