Description of 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air/150/210 Belair |
40 years ago I bought a 1957 Chevy project car... Actual mileage is unknown. The car is straight and already had some work done, including minor crash repair to the right rear quarter panel. I am not happy with the repair on the inner fender under the quarter, but I had planned to tub the car anyway. The frame is solid, the area under the body has surface rust. The rocker panels and the doors are solid. The front and rear window frame areas are solid. The front and rear window drain channels are solid with some pitting. The only bodywork needed is to repair front fenders, repair panels are included. Many of the front end sheet metal parts had been Chem stripped, now have surface rust, but are still good parts. No engine or transmission, no front seat, needs windshield and replace side glass. Has the original rear end, suspension and manual drum brakes and steering. Seats and carpet were gone exposing the solid floors, the trunk is also solid. All windows operate, doors open and close very well, no sagging. Interior window trim is on the car. Original fuel tank with original gas cap. Driver side rear window exterior stainless/chrome trim is on the car. All other exterior stainless window trim is with the car. There is a rear seat with the car, but I believe it is from a hardtop. I have more pics but only 24 are allowed with listing. I have acquired parts, NOS, reproduction and used pieces from other cars, including trim, headliner bows and windows from a 2 Dr hardtop/coupe. Now the kids are gone and so is my ability to finish this job, so it is time to let it go...
