Description of 1968 Chevrolet Camaro L30/M20

In 1967 the gearheads that wanted to go fast but could not afford to pay top dollar for an SS Camaro figured out how to order an equivalent performer with less dough (only $330 over the base Camaro). What they figured out was that Chevrolet made available a little known package referred to as the L30/M20 Camaro. It featured a high winding 327 that cranked out 275 HP and was mated to a Saginaw 4 speed tranny and was held together at the end of the driveshaft by a 12 bolt rear end. According to some Camaro experts the L30/M20 held its own against the SS-350 (L48/M20) and it was a great sleeper as there was no unique badging on this package. Unfortunately, record keeping on the L30/M20 at Chevrolet was poor and the Marketing for Camaro was even more confusing. So in the end it can only be estimated how many Chevy produced. Experts contend that somewhere between 11,000 and 12,000 L30/M20s were built in 1967 and 1968. From a rarity standpoint it is about as uncommon as a 1967-1969 SS-396 375 HP Camaro. Fewer than 3% of all 67 and 68 Camaros were L30/M20s.

This is one of those Camaros. Not only is it rare but it is in exceptional condition! And it gets better, as this Camaro is arguably one of the best factory colors available on 67 and 68 Camaros, Rally Green. With a recent re-spray you will not find a better paint job on a first gen Camaro, easily $20k invested in paint and materials. The fit and finish is exceptional with all the doors, trunk and hood closing as they should. Stand next to this car and enjoy what a quality paint job should look like. The black interior is flawless and is a perfect complement to the Rally Green exterior. Underneath the car is very tidy as well as it appears as though it was under-coated recently. Clearly this sleeper is ready for its next owner to take it out and sneak up on some small block Fords or even a few SS Camaro's. Everything on this car works well, engine runs great and fires right up and the Saginaw shifts flawlessly. Everything works and the chrome and stainless is all new or polished and is a nice compliment to that beautiful rally green paint. What is not to love?
