1986 Chevy Scottsdale that has been just finished after a year and a half project . After acquiring the truck a friend of mine thru the idea at me that it would be great to have a old school look with modern day equipmen, such as fuel injection and 4 way disk brakes . He also stated that the old trucks got horrible gas mileage as we all know and partially due to a transmission with only 3 speeds back then. So we found a 02 2500 HD from a local guy . The truck had been parked for a long time due to a spun rod because gm put the oil pump o ring in side ways . I decided at that point to use the running gear from that truck in my project . Needing to rebuild the motor anyway.so I decided to use Callie's full rotating assembly . Steel cran, h beam rod, and flat top Pistons which comes completely balanced . So after that investment I decided on a custom grind from comp cams and a lot of other stuff that would take a page more to write . Basically it's a 9.5 to 1 550 hp engine that runs on pump gas . The trans was freshened up as well and the nice thing about this truck is its manual transfer case on the floor . (No electronics shift solenoids to mess up ).the front end is a Dana 44 and the back is the biggest gm puts in any pickup of today. The 11.5 inch 14 bolt aam. Starting on the body . We stripped it to the frame sand blasted and put back together with every new part available . I mean everything . Springs, hangers, bushings, shocks, the tears got new caliper, disk and pads . The body was reinstalled with all new metal . It easier to say what I did not replace and that is the cab itself. Yes that is right . I even bought a new gril, head and tail light bezel, all the chrome and both bumpers are all new. The paint work was done by k and s body works in Peru ny and they have been around for 35 plus years . The colors and scheme was kept close to original with the exception that the copper is now a copperhead pearl coat that u find on 2014 jeeps . It really pops in the sun. The rims and toyos are new as well . The interior was completed with the help of long motors lmc . They helped me with all the original fabrics for the seat and carpet along with many other hard to find things . The electrical to operate this engine and transmission is holleys dominator ecru and there complete wiring harness. This is the latest system available and was introduced at sema a short time ago. This is a self tuning truck . It adjust its own parameters as it needs to. That keeps u confident that it's running at its best at all times . Reach in hit the key and it's running and very well .this truck is for sale here. But if it doesn't it will be a mecum auctions in Kissimmee fl on jan 10 . The lot number is g216. If u have more questions call me at 518-534-0904. Thank you and merry Xmas.
