Payment must be received within 3 days of the close of the auction. Payment must be in the form of a money order, personal check or certified check. Checks and money orders should be made payable to "City of Bedford". If paying by personal check, the auction item may not be picked up until 14 days after receipt of payment. Payment must be sent to: City of Bedford 215 E Main St Bedford VA 24523 Attn: Virginia Williams All items must be picked up within 10 days after the close of the auction. The successful bidder must make all arrangements for the loading, packing, boxing, moving and shipping of the item. All items purchased must be removed. Arrangements can be scheduled by calling D. W. Lawhorne at 540-587-6081. Items that are not removed within 10 days shall be charged a storage fee of $50.00 per day. Auction items will only be released to the winning bidder or his/her agent as designated in writing. The description provided in this invitation to bid is based solely upon general observations. Items listed may need repair or be incomplete. Bidders are invited, encouraged and cautioned to carefully inspect the property offered in the auction prior to submitting bids. Failure to inspect property shall not constitute grounds for a claim or for the withdrawal of a bid after the auction's close.
