was special-ordered with Hugger Orange paint, a color normally available only on the contemporary Camaro of 1969. The original buyer also ordered the ZL2 functional cowl-induction hood package but chose to delete the D88 sport stripes that came standard with this setup and are typically seen on most SS cars. The resulting look is quite distinctive and certainly sets the car apart from the pack, but there is no mistaking it for anything but Chevy's all-time classic muscle car. The car received a quality repaint in 2004 and remains in top show quality condition today. The solid-lifter L78 Special High Performance 396/375 HP big-block was only available in the first few months of model year 1970 Chevelle production. It is more rare than the 454 CI LS6 (2,144 vs. 4,475) and has a higher factory horsepower rating than the 454 CI LS5 (375 HP vs. 360 HP). In this case it is backed by a professionally rebuilt Muncie M21 close ratio 4-speed manual transmission, and a beefy 12-bolt rear end with a 4.10:1 Positraction differential, the perfect combination for lightning-quick launches and rapid acceleration. Documentation shows that Guaranty Chevrolet replaced the original block under warranty on April 3, 1970. In 2007 it was professionally rebuilt, fitted with hardened valve seats to accommodate today's lead-free fuels and dyno tested to 408 horsepower. Other desirable SS features include; F41 suspension, power steering and brakes, a cowl-induction hood with pins, Black bench-seat interior and five-spoke SS wheels with Goodyear Polyglas tires. The car is very well documented with two build sheets, registration cards, and the order form for the warranty replacement block. Also, the trim tag has a unique eight-digit custom paint code that matches the build sheets. This car still retains its born with sheet metal, interior, wheels, and original spare with jack. This California born car also still retains all its factory emissions equipment. There is not a nicer or more rare L78 on the planet, this is truly an investment quality car! Call to arrange an appointment to view the car, or ask any additional questions.(315)290-2097.If you know Chevelle's, then you know what these cars are worth. Transport is at the expense of the buyer. Due to the age of the car there is no warranty either expressed or implied, however buy with confidence this is a highly collectible beauty! Please keep in mind that committing to buy on ebay is a legal and binding contract, so get your wife's permission in advance!!!I have dealt with way too many dreamers already. Thanks for looking! |
