Featured here for sale is a beautiful 1968 Chevrolet Camaro 4 speed V8 that has been fully restored. This car has been completely repainted. has a new interior and features the original transmission and rear differential. The motor is a warmed up 350 and mechanically this car needs nothing so if you are not much of a mechanic you are all set. As you read through the write up you will see most everything has either been rebuilt or replaced. This is a car that is and ready to go. It has had a subtle resto-mod making it a great car to drive and enjoy! It is a 2nd owner car. which includes the Protecto-Plate original Dealership paperwork from when it was bought new and the original title as well. Finish -- Grade A: Fresh two stage Lemans Blue paint with the same style stripe that was added by the dealership when the car was new. This finish was applied May 2014 by retired GM dealership painter. Very nice paint job. that is great driver quality plus with outstanding luster and finish. Quality equals what you would find on any new car. The car has picked up a few nicks from storage. nothing significant but it happens. Body -- Grade A: Body was completely redone professionally this winter (2014) with brand new rear quarters. trunk floor. full driver and passenger floors. new front fenders. and new steel cowl induction hood. dash. Outstanding fit and body alignment all performed by a retired GM dealership body technician. Very professional quality job. not some backwoods hack job. New body mounts were installed. Frame is straight and never in an accident. Bumpers - Grade A-: Bumpers are straight originals and have been painted body color. Bright work -- Grade A/B : All new window trim. emblems. rear tail light housings. front grill trim. Door handles are original with some light patina. Glass Grade A : Front windshield is brand new and professionally installed June 20014. Side windows are original free of chips and scratches. All weather-stripping and window "fuzzies" are new and professionally installed. Interior A: Original factory gauges and tachometer all function like new. Interior has been completely restored and looks clean. fresh and even smells like new. New items include: Dash pad. Wood Steering wheel (Factory reproduction unit). dash related chrome trim. carpet. seat upholstery (including foam and padding) new door panels. front arm rest pads. and package tray. Factory original console. had a light restoration. there was a broken piece of plastic that was glued back near the rear ash tray that looks obviously repaired. Overall looks nice. but you can see the crack from the repair . Wheels Grade A: Factory correct Chevrolet Camaro 14 X 7 Rally steel rims have been freshly painted and adorned with new (reproduction) mid-year Chevrolet factory center caps. and new trim rings (reproduction). Originally the car came from the factory with hubcaps. Tires Grade B+: BF Goodrich Radial T/A Tires P205/65R15 up front and P255/60R15 out back. Excellent tread. holds air. rolls down the road smooth. no idea on the age Suspension Grade A: Suspension has been completely removed and rebuilt with new a-arm bushings. ball joints. new factory springs. shocks. inner and outer tie rods and drag link and related rubber bushings and hardware. The front end has been recently aligned. Exhaust Grade B: Brand new Headman headers with 2. 5” Dual exhaust kit with “H” crossover. with Flowmaster chambered mufflers and no tailpipes. This set up was installed by the body man. there are no leaks and it sounds tough. but fit is not what you see from high end aftermarket exhaust systems. Rear-end Grade OK: Numbers matching original rear differential contains original open 3:08 rear-end gear. new gaskets. fresh rear end lube. cleaned detailed. Brand new multi-leaf. shocks and related bushings and hardware have all been installed. Ignition Grade A: PerTronix Flame Thrower Billet Distributor with Ignitor II Module. Flame Thrower II coil and brand new Taylor 8mm spark plug wires with new AC Delco spark plugs. Air Conditioning/Heater Grade B+: Non/A/C car. new heater core and blower motor. original heater controls and work as designed. The fan motor operates and works like new. Driver kick panel vent cable froze. Transmission Grade B+: Original Saginaw four speed with factory original shifter and linkage. Unit was removed inspected. new seals. cleaned and detailed. Brand new clutch. throw out bearing and flywheel where also installed. Brakes Grade A: Power Brakes with discs up front via CPP front disc conversion kit. All new brake lines and emergency cables. Out back there are brand new drums. shoes. wheel cylinders and spring kit. Works better then new. Engine Grade A: The engine is 1972 Chevrolet 350 Small Block engine 4 bolt main truck block (G20-30). Block casting is # 3970010 and is stamped code TRH with a date code D62 (May 6th 1972) The cylinder heads are from a 1970 Camaro with 2. 02 Intake/ 1. 96 Exhaust valves with aluminum full roller rockers. Head casting is #3827186 with a date code C50 (March 1970). Engine is topped with an Edelbrock Victor Junior aluminum intake. with an Edelbrock Performer 750 CFM carburetor equipped with an electric choke. Fuel pump is a new Carter high volume mechanical pump. and the gas tank and sending unit are new units along with all new fuel line. Installation is clean and professional with a clean resto-mod look. Engine is equipped with brand new Chevrolet Performance chrome valve covers and factory style open air element with factory decals. Engine appears to be low mileage and the motor is clean inside (valve covers and intake removed for inspection) and is free of any noises or knocks. and there is no smoke upon start-up cold or warm. and is free of any oil or coolant leaks. Cam specs are unknown but the engine and the pulls strong vacuum and pulls smooth right off idle without hesitation through acceleration. Engine pulls hard under acceleration. no black smoke. and carburetor responds like fuel injection. Engine features a new generator. battery. radiator hoses. and belts. It also features a billet generator bracket and the power steering is factory and installation is professional. Car also features a 7 bladed fan with new thermostatic factory style clutch and aluminum race radiator. Oil pressure holds a steady 25 lbs of pressure when warm. and engine stays consistent at 150-180 degrees even in stop and go traffic on hot summer days. Summary: This is a well built nicely restored car that looks great driving down the road and up close. and will be a knock out at local car shows or cruises. It is a very nice car to drive with smooth acceleration. and clean comfortable cabin. The idle through the chambered mufflers makes it a hit at the cruise in or at the stop light. The suspension and brakes work as designed and the driving experience of the car comfortable for local cruising or for a long drive. Operation is very reliable and without issue and the engine pulls hard off idle up to 5500 rpm. It is a lot of fun to run through the gears. The car as is would make a great reliable. daily driver that would be a blast to drive everyday to work. You could fly into Traverse City. pick up and drive this car anywhere home without issue. It is really a fun car to drive with its throaty exhaust and excellent power. The paint is very nice with some slight chips from storage; however the car draws quite a crowd as is and easily could be driven without shame. Mechanically it has been totally gone through and all maintenance items (battery. alternator. brakes. fluids. radiator. etc) are new or replaced! You can drive this car literally anywhere without issue. So if doing a full restoration or building a bad news street terror is outside your skills level but your looking a for a great musclecar this the car for you.
