Description of 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air/150/210 |
If you are wanting a Classic 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air 2 Dr. Hardtop Sport Coupe that is in original type condition that you and your family can enjoyand not break the bank this might be the car for you. I purchased this 55 Bel Air Hardtop from a friend, his father hadowned this car and since passed away. My friend is in a wheel chair and cannot enjoy it. You rarelysee thesecars in original condition or restored original condition like this. Car is rust free, drives wonderful. The more I look at this car the more I think it has had very little restoration work at all.It isjust too nice a car not to have had some work beingit's 62 years old. It is one heck of a 55 Bel Air Sport Coupe! Front grille has never been out of this car, factory rivets in place. Dash is beautiful, nocracks in the original steering wheel even, etc. Showing 91,406 and I am sure they are actual. Has to be sold as miles exempt. The color on this car is the factory original colors. Here is a decode of the cowl tag. Style -55-1037D = 1955 Bel Air 2Dr. Hardtop Sport Coupe Body - AG 6742 = Atlanta, Georgia, sequence number 6742 Trim - 521= Cloth Beige and Red Paint - 615S = Shoreline Beige and Gypsy Red Vin Number Decode = VC = Bel Air V, 55= 1955, A = Atlanta assembly plant, 101330 = Vin number Sold New at Central Chevrolet in Atlanta, Georgia and the dealer logo emblem is still on the back of the trunk. Equipped with the Original 265 V8 engine, Power Glide Automatic Transmission. Engine suffix code F is 265 V8/Power Glide, look at photo of engine pad. All Chrome and Stainless are very very nice. Glass is tinted. Body fit is very good. Frame and bottom is clean with no issues at all. I don't have photos of the bottom but it is very nice and rust free. Most of this car is original and unrestored. It is laquer paint as it came, starting to hairline crack in a few places. Under the left tail light is starting to peel. Drivers seat is worn where the driver sits. This is an amazing car for the model and condition! We serviced this car, made adjustments that it needed, replaced the old points with an electronic system ( no worry about the old points type now), and detailed it. Spare and Jack assembly is in the trunk. All lights work, turn signals, back up lights, tag light, etc. Ido not have any more photos I can send sorry. I am located 2 miles from the Mobile, Alabama regional airport ( callsign MOB )I can pickyou up, let you inspect it, take you back if you choose to do that, only with an appointment please.I will helpall I can to make this a fun deal for both of us.I reserve the right to close this auctionearly for any reason. I cannot hold the car, sorry. All funds have to clear my bank before the carcan leave its securelock-up. I can help with shipping also. Full insurance will stay in force until it ships.
