Description of 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air/150/210 Townsman wagon |
House of Horsepower is family owned, classic and specialty car dealer located in SE Wisconsin. We pride ourselves on the customer service we provide and the honest and straightforward way we do business. We don't want to just sell you a car, we strive to create a relationship that will keep you coming back for your future car needs as well. We keep our overhead low so we can price our cars competitively and save you money. We are representing this LOW MILEAGE, BARN-FIND and well preserved 1955 210 Townsman wagon. Exterior Painted in the correct code 589 Glacier Blue, believed to be repainted many years ago, and aside from some blemishes it is well preserved under the layer of dirt that has protected it for the years. The body is extremely solid, all of the typical trouble spots are very clean and solid metal with no filler detected. There is some surface rust and bubbling around the gutter area, but nothing rusted through. The paint will shine after the dirt is cleaned off, but we decided to leave it in its "found" state and will detail the car prior to sale if the new owner desires us to do that. The trim is in great condition and is consistent with the 30,000 miles on the odometer. The two front door glass panels are cracked, but the rest of the glass is in excellent condition. Doors, hood and tailgate all open and close as you would expect from a low mileage car such as this. Interior The interior, while maintaining its original code 514 blue/beige color scheme, does look to be an older BelAir style replacement. Seats and seat covers are in nice shape with no rips, burns or tears. Door panels, the dash, carpet and headliner are in very nice shape as well. Mechanicals The original 170hp 265 cubic inch V-8 still sits in the engine bay as it did when it rolled down the assembly line. We installed and fresh fuel pump and filter, cleaned the fuel lines and put fresh fuel and it purrs like a kitten. The original powerglide transmission shifts smoothly as it should and the car runs, drives and stops great! This is a fun and complete cruiser that you can use to take your family to the lake, cruise-ins or just for a Sundaydrive. Excellent for someone that wants to get into the collector car hobby without the sticker shock that comes with it. Call us today with any questions or to schedule a showing.
