The Chevy Nova was a completely fresh design by general motors to complete with the growing "compact" car market of the early 60's. The car was built with a uni-body design to compete directly with Ford's Falcon AMC Rambler and Studebakers Lark. The Nova also known as the Chevy II due to its size and lightweight was soon targeted for performance packages. The Super Sport package came available in 1963 and soon performance versions of Chevy's big and small block V8's made regular appearances und...er the hood. To this day The Chevy Nova is a revered muscle car. The 1970 Nova SS clone offered here shows very nice throughout runs great and is a blast to drive. It features a 396 v8 with a 4 speed manual transmission. The car has a 12 bolt rear end. The car originally came from Georgia and the body reflects that. The engine and dual disc clutch were rebuilt by the owner. The car has a SS hood SS badging and SS interior trim. According to the owner the car has just 350 miles on it since rebuild. It has had a 4 wheel disc brake upgrade with all new parts. The car has 3 inch true dual exhaust. The owner also has replaced the fuel system from the tank to the carburetor. Chevy Nova's remain highly sought after as they were basic lightweight cars that were a favorite among speed junkies and straight line racers. Their survival rate is relatively low and well-sorted affordable examples such as the one presented here are few and far between. A great car at a great price.
