Description of 1959 Chevrolet Impala |
Up for sale is our 1959 Chevrolet Impala Convertible. Car was purchased from the second owner who has owned vehicle since 1961 where he purchased it used from Hulac Chevrolet in Omaha,NE. The car sat for 40 years before the car was listed for sale recently. We purchased it with the full intent of making a driver quality car, but unfortunately budget, space, time and tooling have made us realize it's a task we can't accomplish in the near future so time to sell the car. The car is 100% all original. She was equipped with 250hp 348 single 4 barrel carb (which with little effort we have not been able to turn it over), and a two speed automatic transmission. It came with options as power white top, red vinyl interior and tuxedo black in color. The car is 95% complete, but is missing minor things like LH marker light trim, power steering pump off of the generator, windshield washer reservoir cap and convertible top snap on boot. One of the 4 hub caps is unoriginal and the 1959 Iowa plate belongs to me. Again all small items when dealing with a car 50+ years old. We have 70+ pictures on shutterfly that can be viewed online at pix.sfly.com/sjiwXAMG . If you need more, just ask. This '59 is a perfect candidate for restoration. A well optioned, desirable color concept car that when finished right can bring over $100k. Every body panel would need replaced if doing so. Rust in every floor panel, rust in all body panels - quarters, fenders rockers etc, trunk lid and hood salvageable, trunk floor needs replaced, inner quarters gone, rear body mounts need replaced - but most importantly, the reinforced convertible frame looks very well intact. No visible soft spots can be found. We have not had the car on a hoist, nor have access to one. The engine would need a complete overhaul, transmission and rear end more than likely the same. The top has one 2" tear in the open area and has worn through on the rear top support. Removable rear window is in tact and damage free. All the trim is usable and in decent shape. All four wheels spin freely. Brake pedal goes to the floor. When a battery was installed, we had horn, turn signals, lights etc. The car has nothing to hide, and we're more than happy to answer any questions. Please message through eBay for contact info. Reserve is fairly set, and if not met, she'll go into storage until we can afford to fix it properly. A $500 non refundable deposit is required 24 hours after auction end. We have the right to end the auction at any time. Again, hurts us to sell, but we're happy to accommodate a buyer from any area. You send a truck here, and we'll help load it. But remember, no engine and no brakes. Thanks for looking and bid to win. On Oct-24-17 at 08:09:08 PDT, seller added the following information: UPDATE 10/24 ** We've been contacted by multiple people across the nation all inquiring about a 'buy it now' price to end the auction. The offers have been very generous and we appreciate them, but after long thought, we've chose to let the auction play out. It's only fair to our current and future bidders. We're sticking to our original method - bid to win! Reserve has been met, this car will sell. Cash/Bank Wire only on final payment. PayPal is just fine for deposit after auctions end. Good Luck!!! On Oct-25-17 at 14:39:52 PDT, seller added the following information: Had some bidders requesting higher quality photos. My apologies, wasn't aware that shutterfly would not allow you to zoom in for larger quality photos. I've made another album on google that will allow you to do so. Please message me for a link to see the same photos posted on a google photo album. This is the real deal folks, photos hide nothing and speak for themselves. Where else can you find one complete with this color/drivetrain combo??? Bid to Win!!! |
