1964 Chevrolet Corvair Spyder The first-generation 1960 Corvair was one of the most unique cars that GM had ever put into production and it didn't take them long to start working on a performance model. In 1962 they offered the Spyder - a turbocharged Monza. Once again the Corvair was a trendsetter - one of GM's first production turbo models. This burgundy '64 Spyder is a great example of the last Gen1 Corvair. The flat-six engine received a displacement increase to 164ci in '64 and the turbocharged Spyder employed an intake system designed around a Thompson-Ramo turbocharger and Carter YH side-draft carburetor. The result was 150bhp @4400 210lb/ft of torque and surprising performance. Spyders were equipped with 4-speed manual transaxles allowing the driver to take full advantage of the motor's high RPM performance band. this corvair is in all original condition, drives just beautifully, everything works, starts up everytime,no rips or tears in interior, no rust or dents or scratches on exterior of car,its in pristine condition, call norm at 248 882 7435 for any questions...thanks
