Description of 1966 Chevrolet C-10 |
1966 Chevrolet C10 original short wheel base fleet side truck. I am the second owner of the truck. This is the highest option 1966 C10 that I have even seen. All of the options are original to the truck. I had purchased this truck several years ago and then restored the truck back to original condition. The only change was staining the bed wood instead of painting it. During the restoration most of the parts used were NOS parts. There is some parts that were reproductions that had to be used, but use of reproduction parts was very minimal. Most all of the parts are original GM parts. I did locate some original NOS front fenders that was used during the restoration, but most of the sheet metal is original to the truck. All the trim on the truck is NOS including all side trim, Custom cab trim, and even the front grill is an NOS aluminum grill. All options are original to the truck and it was a very complete truck when the restoration was started. Will explain details of the restoration. The truck was restored like preparing a Corvette for national judging. This is a complete frame off restoration. Everything was completely disassembled, cleaned, paint stripped, and then correctly re-plated or re-painted as needed. The oringal color of this truck was red with tan interior. Since it was an air conditioned cab truck, the dash is darker color that rest of the interior. The color are as close to factory as possible. This is even the original seat and cover that the truck left the factory with. When we restore vehicles, we use all of the original bolts, nuts, and other hardware when possible. Even the bolts and other hardware is cleaned, stripped of their original plating and then re-plated back to what was correct for a restoration. Body was stripped to bare metal and then brought back in stages. It is the correct 514 red. Paint was done in base clear. It was 3 coats of base and 4 coats of clear and then wet sanded completely smooth to 5000 grit before buffing. Paint is in very good condition. All of the glass is original to the truck except for the windshield. Rather than painting the bed floor, I did use oak wood. I was sanded smooth, stained, and then coated with sealer and then PPG clear coat. InteriorMost of the interior parts are original to the truck. This is the oringal seat and cover that the truck left the factory with. It was in very good condition with no rips or stains. I think it always had a plastic cover over the seat and during the restoration, I did make a new plastic cover to go over the seat. Seat belts, etc is correct. Gauges are original to the truck. Truck has the original radio. UndercarriageThis area looks as good as the rest of the truck. The frame was sandblasted and painted with PPG epoxy primer then coated with satin black. All suspension and steering parts was replaced. It has white wall tires on correct and I think original wheels and hubcaps. It has the correct power brake system on the truck. It also has correct power steering assist set up. Original springs were used and has not been lowered. Engine/TransmissonIt has a 327 cu transmission and a power glide transmission. These are both original to the truck. Motor was rebuilt back to original specs, but did have to bore 0.030. Motor runs excellent and transmission shifts corrected. Truck is in good working condition, but sold as is. Deposit of $500 required and full payment within 7 days. Will work with you to arrange shipping if needed, but shipping cost will be at the expense of the buyer. I will try to answer all questions and accurately as I can. 417-576-7931 |
