Description of 1970 Chevrolet El Camino SS |
1970 Chevy El Camino with a BBC Merlin 3 Big Block with aluminium heads. This is a crate motor that produces 638hp (850cfm carb). Hydraulic roller rockers, forged crank, 4-bolt main, high nickel block, internally balanced Eagle assembly, ARP studs, etc... TH400 built tranny with a 3400 stall and 9" converter, standard valve body shift, kevlar clutches, roller bearings, high flow/high pressure pump, oversized cooler/lines. Car had a frame off rotisserie restoration done two years ago. 3400 miles since. Very fast and beautiful. UMI front tubular control arms and Southside Machine rear boxed arms with Eibach springs and UMI front and rear 1.25" anti sway bars. Koni adjustable shocks, 12 bolt rear end with 3.73 Eaton posi and Perfect Launch. Entire undercarriage is coated with Z-Guard. Interior is all new with Legendary bucket seats, new custom carpet kit, entire new dashboard, and new headliner. Every gasket and seal was replaced, new glass was installed, and all new stainless trim out side. Car was sanded down to the metal, epoxy primed, painted in single stage guide coat, blocked smooth, and then painted a deep black, then finished with PPG 2k Glamour clear. Its laser straight. Wheels are 15" staggered SS Rallys with new BFG tires (225 fronts/295 rears). Everything is in perfect condition without any shortcomings. Car tracks straight, launches and brakes in a straight line, throws the rear end around without any effort, and can cruise 100mph on the freeway effortlessly. Even the original factory cowl hood with a working flap was restored and painstakingly put together (very rare). You will not find a nicer Elco anywhere. There is over 60k tied up in this car plus hundreds of hours of labor. This beauty looks, runs, sounds and handles like a new sports car. It is a pleasure to drive and WILL NOT disappoint the pickiest car-guy. I DO NOT have the protecto plate, build sheet, or any documentation from the factory, so its impossible to tell if this Elco is an original SS car. If I did have all the documentation, price would obviously be a lot higher. Located in Concord and can be shown anytime. 9 2 5 - 3 8 5 - 8 3 0 2 Clean and clear title, Currently tagged and insured. Appraised last year for $60k. Videos of the car: https://youtu.be/INcMMo3iP8Y https://youtu.be/w6_PY-0tCSE |
