Description of 1986 Chevrolet C/K Pickup 1500 Silverado |
1986 Chevrolet K10 Silverado ~Original 32 year old paint~Only 3,700 miles averaged per year~Original rust free California survivor~ Rare color combo of Russet and Doeskin Tan~They are only Original once, this truck cannot be duplicatedNO RESERVE BID TO WIN AUCTION Up for a NO RESERVE auction is a beautiful 1986 Chevrolet K10 Silverado painted in Russet and Doeskin Tan. 32 year old vehicles are not usually found in this condition let alone a 4 wheel drive truck. This truck looks like it did in February of 1986 and would be almost impossible to duplicate. This truck has been in the same family since 1986 when it was sold new in Missouri. Shortly after purchasing this truck the family moved out to Northern California's wine country. This truck has only been driven on average 3,700 miles a year, otherwise it has spent its time locked up in the garage. WHAT IS A SURVIVOR CAR? Survivors differ from barn finds. (this Survivor is actually from a Sacramento climate controlled barn) They have usually been cared for andlast decades as a daily driver, or are carefully stored and maintained enough where you can start it with nothing more than a new battery. A survivor car may be in perfectcondition. It may have been kept undercover and only driven to town for weekly supplies. They usually have very low mileage and are often left in the most original state, with factory fitted accessories, original engine bay labels, and factory finished paint. The perfect survivor car is still owned by the first owner who might have log books, service history, receipts and even the original delivery docket. 1973-87 Chevy pickup trucks or "Squarebodies" have seen a steady increase in their values simply because they are starting to become harder to find in decent condition especially the 4x4 models. Various experts and publications alike have predicted the classic 4x4 truck market is the next big market to explode. The current market is proving that putting your money into a 4x4 truck is a good bet. Just like muscle cars a 10-15 years ago this rapid increase in demand due to dwindling supply has spawned many aftermarket parts companies to sell aftermarket replacement parts for these American trucks. While aftermarket parts can look like the original they are usually far from it, they are always made of inferior materials usually from Asia that either break or don't line up like originals and most certainly will not last as long as the original. It also doesn't sound right rebuilding an American classic with Asian parts and at what point does that American made truck become Asian made. This 4x4 Squarebody truck is true to its roots original and 100% American made. Rememberthey are only original once and the ones that maintain their originality will always be worth the most.1986 Chevrolet K10 Survivor - YouTube Video will open in a new window [isdntekvideo]Cosmetically it is in fantastic condition for any vehicle let alone being a 32 year old 4x4 truck. This was a truck that was babied and never really used like a truck and its current condition shows that. The body is very straight all the gaps line up nicely, there are a dings here and there but almost not even noticeable. The metal is solid and original with no bondo or body filler, there are no rusty spots and definitelyno rust holes. The Russet and Tan paint look beautiful together and give this truck a classic American feel. The paint is original and looks great. General Motors was not known for having exceptionally good paint on any of their vehicles so the fact this is 32 year old GM paint that still looks like this is proving this truck is a quality survivor that has been well kept its whole life. It is not flawless there are imperfections I have tried hard to make them visible in my photos but honestly this paint is pretty darn good for 32 years old. All the original Silverado moldings are still attached as well as the original rock chip stickers in front of the rear wheels. All the original chromed trimpieces, bumper and mirrors are shiny and not deteriorating. Still has the original Bumper flair and original 15 inch rally wheels. Interior wise this truck matches the exterior in its exceptional original condition. Everything is just how it was in 1986. The Silverado door panels are in great shape from the top down and not missing any pieces. The dash looks great, there is 1 crack by the gauge cluster. The gauges are all functional and very clear and visible, it is common for these trucks to have their gauges fade to the point you cannot see. Still has the original Delco AM/FM radio which is rare although its outdated it works great. The heater and fans work great the AC needs the belt hooked up to work. There are no tears in the seat. There are a few spots on the carpet but overall its in great shape for being a light color and 32 years old. This truck is equipped with the Silverado package which comes with a fancier door panels, seat, and polished trim on the dash and glove box. Almost always the Silverado door panels and trim piecesare missing and broken, this truck still has all its original Silverado pieces and nothing is broken or missing. Mechanically this truck is good operating order and safe to be on the road. The engine starts every timeand runs good. It has recently passed the rigorous California smog emissionstest with flying colors. The transmission shifts smooth in all gears and the brakes work good. There are a few of the original chalk marks from the factory on the fire wall, radiator support and on the frame. All the lights, beams and blinkers work as they should. Both gas tanks are in good order. Overall this truck is in good mechanical conditionanother testamentto how it was maintained and babied its whole life. Most of the time old 4x4 trucks are a pain to drive, this truck is one of the smoothest and nicest 4x4 trucks I have driven. Trucks like this don't come around often. Many of them are beat to oblivion or almost always modified in some way. The originality of this truck cannot be duplicated. You cannot just go out and buy a 32 year old original truck like this off the car lot especiallyin a rare color combo. Don't miss out on an opportunity to get into the classic 4x4 market with one of the nicest original 4 wheel drive squarebody Chevy trucks out there.NO RESERVE AUCTION CHECK OUT THE VIDEO OF THE TRUCK DRIVING: 1986 Chevrolet K10 Survivor - YouTube Video will open in a new window [isdntekvideo]Don't miss out on this rare find They are only original once. It would be difficult to replace this 86 K10 with original paint in actuality it is difficult to find any car or truck especially a General Motors product much less a 4 wheel drive truck with 32 year old paint. That is fact. Original paint is original paint it's impossible to duplicate because trucks were purchased for work and over a period of years common sense dictates that by this age most are worn out especially 4 wheel drives that had a more limited production geared to people who needed 4 wheel drive in 1986 (unlike today) typically in snow country where rust is an issue that is not the case with this vehicle. In reality anybody can piece together an old Square Body truck with cheap Taiwanese and Chinese reproduction parts bought on the internet .Those reproduction body, trim, interior parts are in my opinion all of an inferior quality than what was originally made by General Motors To me it seems crazy to bring an American classic back to life with cheap Asian made reproduction pieces but the fact is GM doesn’t make them anymore and fewer and fewer survivors are left at any price. The original front bumper is twice as heavy as the reproduction bumpers this grille which is near mint still has the original bright color emblem in the center something you will never find in a cheap reproduction the real stuff is metal not plastic. This truck is the real deal with the original General Motors parts that it left the factory with 32 years ago. Anybody can restore a truck but you can’t remake original. If you are looking for the real deal this is it if you have any questions or concerns regarding this vehicle please ask any questions before you place a bid. This vehicle is being sold with NO RESERVE and will sell to the last bidder. If you are interested in making an offer Please dont email and ask what I will sell it for it is being sold to the high bidder but reserve the right to sell it if the price is right. I am really not sure what the value is but I am sure it's a one of a kind that can't be duplicated Thank you and good luck TERMS OF SALE I RESERVE THE RIGHT TO:
