Description of 1968 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 396 |
You are looking at one of only 2286 1968 Chevelle SS 396 Convertibles. In addition to that, this car is a factory 350 horse 4 speed car! This car is a 41,000 mile survivor car with its’ original born with engine, transmission and positrac rear end. I have known this car for over twenty years and have owned it for almost 12 years. It was traded in to Hedgell Oldsmobile in Chicago by the original owner in the early 70’s on a new Vista Cruiser station wagon. The Hedgell family appreciated good original rare cars even back then. They put this car into their family collection and it stayed there until I bought it along with several other low mile cars in around 2006. It is truly a time capsule! It retains 100 percent of its’ original bench seat SS interior and sheet metal. It runs and drives super good with little to no wind noise with the top up. The power top works like new and the 4 speed transmission shifts like butter. It has the original jack and tools and what’s left of the original limited slip sticker. It retains all 4 of its original T 3 headlights and has factory power steering. The floors and trunk are rust free and in excellent condition. It’s been at least partially painted sometime in the 70’s and it’s starting to show it’s age. It is a factory Matador Red car with Black interior and white convertible top. It has its original black parade boot included also. I had the original engine totally rebuilt to factory specs including the original carburetor etc. It has less than 500 miles on the professional rebuild. I am looking for a 1955 Bel Air and would deal up or down on the right car. I encourage any potential bidder to come drive and inspect the car in person. You will not be disappointed! This is a NO reserve auction so the high bidder will take this home! I require full payment within 7 days of the auction end I can assist in worldwide shipping with very reasonable rates Please call or text with any questions.
