This is a 1986 Chevrolet M1008a1 1 ton pickup. All CUCV's are the 1984 body style. That is why this 1986 looks like a 1984. This truck is factory original. No changes have been made since it was surplus by the military. I'm the 1st civilian owner and I have not driven it. It still carries the SF97 certificate to obtain a title. You will need the SF97 and the corresponding bills of sale, one from me to you and the one from GOV liquidation to me, which I will furnish. 24 volt 6.2 L diesel, no modifications. The M1008a1 is a radio truck, somewhat uncommon in itself, but even more so with the troop seats, radio rack, and radio connection box. Registration number is NG1VHF. All the unit markings are also on the truck as seen in the pictures. The truck has no rust issues except surface rust where the paint is thin. I consider a truck rust free if it only has minor surface rust, no pitting, blisters or rust holes. This truck only has only minor surface rust, most of it was on the top of the hood and on the inside of the tailgate. There has been no rust repair. The reddish color on the hood is rustoleum paint that was applied years ago because the paint was thin, it was starting to rust. It is not rusting now. The painted areas should be black. The common places these square bodies rust this one has none. This truck has one small ding that is hard to see in the camo on the passenger door. The rear step bumper has a slight bend in the right rear corner. There are no dents on the roof which is common on most of these CUCV's from soldiers riding up there. The hood is not bent from the soldier walking across it to get to the roof either. The seat is also original, not repaired, or replaced. Only low mileage trucks have good seats, in my experience. This is the best, unrestored, unmodified CUCV pickup I have ever seen. I intended to return it back to a radio truck, but since I have not done anything with the truck in the many years I've had it, it is time to let it go. Knowing I'll never see another as nice makes it a tough thing to do. Don't let this one get away. I will include a good spare tire to the new owner, as there is not one under it now. I will add that I will change the oil and filter for anyone intending to drive the truck home. No deadline on shipping, get the best deal. I had a request for pictures of the bottom of the doors. So I took those and while I was down there took pictures of the rockers from underneath. The screws showing are the screws that hold the step plate moulding. This is a typical rust out area, no rust here. The 1st 2 are the drivers side, last 2 are the passenger side. I'm happy to answer your questions.
