Description of 1968 Chevrolet Caprice |
1968 Chevy Caprice 2dr coupe project car. BBC 396 matching number, TH 400 transmission with 12 bolt 2.73:1 ratio open rear end. PS, PB, AC and Vigilites. The engine will run but has a knock so plan on a rebuild. The heater core leaks also. I was told the trans was rebuilt but I can not confirm that. I does move around. It does not have the original q-jet on it...has a Holley vac secondary now. The frame is very solid and looks great. This car spent most of it's life in Arkansas. The brakes will need work. Exhaust seems fairly new. Tires are shot but do hold air fine for transport. The body is really pretty solid. Floor pans and trunk pan is nice. The fenders and quarters have some rust in the typical areas but nothing that can't be repaired. The vinyl top has some bubbly areas underneath so hard to say how much repair the roof will need. The rear window does leak. The worst rust is about a two foot length of the trunk weatherstrip gutter. There are some dents and dings in the body also. Interior will need redoing. Seats need recovering. The headliner is gone. Carpet is gone. Dash is in nice condition except the pad has a cheap cap on it. I do have the rear seat and seat belts, rear arm rests and kick panels. They are not shown in the pics as they were removed to pull carpet to look at the floor. The Vigilites are all there however the rear cables are broken. This is a project car. You are not going to be able to drive it home. It will need to be towed. If you have a transport company pick it up for you consider it non-operational. Please let me know if you have any questions. I have many more pics. If there is something else you would like to see, just ask. I encourage buyers to come look at it in person or have someone you trust look at it for you. Buyer will need to make a $500 deposit through PayPal within 24 hours. Balance will be due in cash at time of pickup and within 10 days. If you can't get the car that quick, please contact me before bidding. If your located in WI or MN, I could possibly deliver the car for a fee. This is a good project car. Feel free to call me with questions. Steve 612 816 1502 |
