Unique and understated RestoMod that was the subject of a feature article in Corvette Magazine. This car is the perfect compromise between high performance and real world drivability. It has been very lightly driven, mostly to local car shows, since body-off restoration onto a new frame in 2010 by a lifelong professional Corvette specialist. Modern upgrades include front disc brakes, power steering, tilting black leather steering wheel with polished split spoke, Vintage air conditioning, Kenwood am/fm/cd audio, and grey 7 x 15" American Racing Torq-Thrust D wheels matched to Yokohama touring tires for superb handling and ride. Most fiberglass body panels were replaced with new during the restoration, including the nose, quarter panels, taillight panel and a '67 big block hood complete with a gleaming white stinger. A full new wiring harness was installed, gauges were rebuilt and a new white top was fitted. Over 300 hours were spent preparing the body for paint, and the car is finished in a stunning Deep Water Blue Pearl. The 1980 Corvette seats, as well as the dash and door panels, are done in a two-tone mix of GM Dove Grey and Royal Blue, a perfect complement to the exterior.
The 350 small block crate engine is stroked to 392 cid. On the dyno it shows 438 horsepower at 3800 rpm's and 520 lbs-ft of torque at 5700 rpms. The 10.75:1 compression ratio allows it to run perfectly on standard 93 octane fuel. Dart aluminum heads, as well as many other aluminum bolt-on engine parts, help reduce weight. The mild roller cam gives a smooth idle while also allowing the Vintage aftermarket air conditioner to function properly. Exhaust is a 2.5 inch Magnaflow system. The stroker is mated to a Muncie M21 4-speed gearbox that provides the power to a 3:36 rear end.
Garaged and covered whenever it's not on the road, you'll have a hard time finding a nicer head-turner anywhere.
