Description of 1964 Chevrolet El Camino Base

Today we have for sale a great little 1964 El Camino. It's a barn find that has had a lot of work done to it. Originally a red/red car from Kansas, it migrated to Illinois. We have a clear Illinois title. The original 283 was pulled and rebuilt by Jasper. While the engine was out, the original 3 speed manual was replaced by a rebuilt 350 automatic trans. The conversion was done correctly with the steering column and pedal assembly replacement at the same time. The brakes were then rebuilt and new exhaust was installed. The engine has an old GM/Carter 4 barrel carb on it. There is a bit of off-idle stumble but I'm sure it's just old fuel. The car runs, drives, stops, and steers very well for a 54 year old car. Aluminum rims were added and the tires are still in very good condition.
The body was put in primer some time ago. There does not appear to any body work done. If there is, it was done very well. The car is very straight. The bed has got a few small holes in the floor. The glass is all in "driver" condition with no cracks and very little separation.
The frame has had 3 small repairs done. They appear to have been done very well. Structurally, the frame seems to be very nice. Air shocks were installed in the rear and hold air.
The interior is by far the worst part of the vehicle. The dash is complete and working. Someone added 2 toggle switches to the bottom of the dash, 1 for the blower motor and 1 for the wipers. The wiper motor has been replaced. The headlights, taillights, brake lights, and rear turn signals work. The front turn signals are not hooked up. The door panels will need to be replaced. The headliner is gone but the bows are there. The seat is not original and is not bolted in. A wood grain steering wheel was added and should clean up decent. The floors are rusty. The trans tunnel is good, as are the floor cross members. The floors are available for about $300 on EBay.
This would make an AWESOME winter project. It won't take a lot to get this old girl back on the road. $4000 in receipts for all of the work will be included in the sale.
AS ALWAYS, I HAVE DONE MY BEST TO DESCRIBE THIS CAR AS ACCURATELY AS POSSIBLE. I'M SURE I MISSED SOMETHING. PLEASE LOOK AT THE PHOTOS AND ASK PLENTY OF QUESTIONS.
A NON-REFUNDABLE $500 DEPOSIT WILL BE DUE WITHIN 24 HOURS OF THE END OF THE AUCTION. THE REST OF THE MONEY WILL BE DUE BEFORE THE VEHICLE WILL LEAVE MY PROPERTY.
