1955 Chevy 210. Built 235 "Stovebolt 6" by well known engine builder Tom Langdon of Langdon's Stovebolt 6 (http://www.langdonsstovebolt.com/). This car has received a frame of restoration that took 5 years to complete. The car was restored back to original conditions, paint, interior colors, ect, with tasteful performance, reliability, and safety upgrades. The exterior and interior stock color combination is stunning in my opinion. I purchased the Chevy 210 from its long time owner of over 30 years. He is a avid member of Inliners International ( a club that specializes in inline 6 and 8 cylinder motors). The restoration was done to a very high standard. Less than 5000 miles have been put on this car since its restoration. The car has been garaged kept the last 40 plus years. This car retains its original motor. One key fits all locks. The transmission was updated to a turbo 350, however, the original rebuilt Powerglide as well as all of the original parts come with the car. Updated front disc brakes, dual exhaust. I have a three ring binder of over 200 pages of receipts, documentation, and build specs that go with the car. I also have photos of the car documenting its restoration. The restoration was done from start to finish by professionals in there respective fields.
MOTOR- Numbers matching 235 inline 6 cylinder. The original 6 cylinder has been rebuilt and built by legendary Chevrolet inline engine builder Mr. Langdon of Langdon's Stovebolt 6. Approx. 5000 miles on the motor and transmission. The motor now has the same horse power as a 265 V-8 (approx. 180 h.p.). Some highlights of the build include; dual Holley Progressive Weber two barrel carburetors, Offenhouser aluminum dual carburetor intake, Howard racing cam (lift .272, duration 204), decked block, head work, Howard aluminum finned valve cover, side engine cover, and oil filter housing. The stock radiator was re-cored and modified for high performance applications. The copper top of the radiator was then tastefully polished. The complete exhaust system was updated to a dual exhaust. Other upgrades include new; electronic ignition, flex fan, starter, Interstate battery, and rebuilt generator. The motor looks like a work of art and sits in the engine bay like a gem. The engine/engine bay was refinished and detailed to show quality standards. The motor has plenty of power, runs like a fine watch, and is extremely reliable.
PAINT/BODY- This car was repainted its original color of Harvest Gold (code 361) with a Indian Ivory top. This car body and frame was completely stripped down to bare shell and bare metal. All windows, trim, body panels, interior, etc. were removed. The body was then separated from the frame. The frame and underside of the car was then sand blasted and repainted. New body mounts were installed. All rust repair was executed by a professional body shop. Because the car had been garaged a majority of its life, minimal rust repair was needed. All rust was removed and replaced with metal. The car is now 100% rust free. The car received a show quality (window out) paint job in its factory original colors verified by the trim tag. From what I have been told, it is some what rare to have a car with the roof painted a accent color (usually the whole back of the car was painted a contracting accent color). The door jambs, engine bay, under hood, and trunk area were all repainted and received the same attention to detail as the exterior of the car. The paint was then color sanded and polished. All new door, window, window felt, and body rubber seals were used during the reassembly. A new front windshield was installed. The rest of the glass is original and was installed using all new window rubber. The following parts were replaced with new reproduction parts; left and right side mirrors, bumper hardware, hood emblem, bumper over riders, door handles, head light bezels, various trim, emblems, ect. The original trim and bumpers were all re-chrome plated and in mint condition. The door and body lines are perfect. the doors shut like bank vault doors. The undercarriage is spotless and has not seen rain since its restoration.
INTERIOR- The interior was completely restored to the original finish and colors of Green/Beige (code 507). The front and rear seat upholstery was replaced with exact reproduction seat upholstery. New seat padding was installed front and rear. New reproduction carpet and floor insulation padding. Reupholstered rear package tray. Beautiful head liner. Restored instrument cluster. The door panels were restored/reupholstered. The original beige door inserts were reused as they are not being reproduced. Th original radio works. New rear view mirror, interior door handles, window handles, sun visors, seat belts, floor mats, various interior trim and fasteners, body sill covers, and glove box. All electrical works including; dash lights, speedometer, all gauges, interior lights, glove box light, ect.
TRANSMISISON/AXLE- The original rebuilt Powerglide was upgraded with a rebuilt turbo 350 automatic transmission with mild shift kit. New torque converter. A custom adapter plate was machined to mate the 235 engine to the turbo 350. Turbo 350 yoke mounted to a new driveline was installed. Turbo 350 column linkage, indicator lens, and trans cooler was installed to complete the conversion. Stock 3.56 rear axle ratio. The rear end was serviced with new wheel bearings, wheel seal, and gear oil.
SUSPENSION/BRAKES- The factory front drums were updated with disc brakes. New front lowering spindles (2 inch), brake rotors, front calipers, pads, dual circuit master cylinder, proportioning valve, hard and rubber brake lines front and rear, wheel bearings front and rear, rear drums, wheel cylinders, shoes, rear lowering leaf springs (1 1/2) & bushings, upper and lower control arms, control arm bushings, tie rod ends, draglink, all suspension bushings & rubber, front & rear shocks. Heavy duty front and rear sway bars were installed. The alignment and most of the suspension upgrades was performed byTrue Line of Seattle Washington. The car drives beautifully, handles and brakes substantially better than it did new in 1955.
OTHER- Brand new Coker 205/75/15 wide white wall radial tires. New chrome steel wheels with reproduction early Chevy center caps. New wiring harness, heater core, heater seal kit, heater blower motor, heater box, ignition switch, wiper switch, speedometer cable, fuel tank, fuel sender, halogen headlight upgrade. Restored fuel gauge. All original manuals, sales literature, dealer brochures, spare rim, lug nut wrench, and jack, 200+ pages of receipts, history, documentation, shop repair manuals, extra PPG Harvest Gold paint, and restoration pictures are included with the sale.
