1953 Chevrolet 3100 Advance Design Half Ton Short Bed Pickup Truck. Remarkably rust free. Selling withNo Reserveto the highest bidder. This Chevrolet 3100 is incredibly rust free compared to most Advance Design era trucks that we come across. The floorboards are in excellent shape with only very minor rust through in the front corners beside the lower A pillars. Also the cab corners have some surface rust which would likely reveal a few holes if sandblasted. This is a very solid truck and a great place to start for a rewarding project. There is some minor body damage to the drivers side just ahead of the front door where it looks as though the door has been caught by the wind at some point in the past and been blown around into the body. The original wooden bed floor is mostly missing due to deterioration through age. Overall this is a good solid and complete example of the desirable Chevrolet Half Ton truck from the Advance Design era. The interior is complete and in expected condition for its age. Mechanically this truck is mostly complete but the motor was torn apart and a rebuild was began 9 years ago and it was never finished or re-assembled. The original rebuilt motor comes with the truck but it will need to be finished, re-assembled and installed. The pistons and connecting rods are missing for some unknown reason. I would also recommend checking it over before re-assembly because the rebuild was started 9 years ago and it has sat in a barn beside the truck since. All the tires hold air and it rolls freely. I can not emphasize enough how impressive this find is. Seldom do we find half ton truck of this era as rust free as this truck. Bid with confidence and feel free to message with any questions.
