1976 CHEVROLET C/10 SHORT WIDE BOX PICK-UP, CUSTOM BUILD
So much has been done to this truck I'll try to touch on everything.First of all it was featured in HOT ROD NEWS under the caption Deep Purplewhen stilled owned by the original owner.
We'll start with a complete frame off restoration and go from back to frontIt has a Triangular 4 link rear suspension with 3.73 rear gears. It has firestone air bags front and rear. A 16 gallon Summit Racing fuel cell with electric fuel pump mounted in back.Drop front spindles with disc front brabkes and drum rears.
The engine is a Professional built by Warner's Automotive in Carson City, NV. It is 383 C.I. stroker. It has Pink Rods and Keith Black Pistons along with a Lumpy Erson Roller Rocker Cam Shaft and a Jackson Gear Drive cam gear. On top of the engine it has a Walter Prosper custom Polished Billet Aluminum Dual Filter Air Cleaner. The Carb is a 750 cfm on a Edelbrock Performer Intake. The rod Works done the Block hugger Headers and DNL Fine exhaust from Carsson City Nv. built the exhaust system. It has dual Flowmaster Mufflers.
The Tranny is an Enhanced factory Turbo 350 with a B & M 2400 stall converter and Transcooler.
Sam Head's Interior of Hermosa Beach Ca. did the interior in gray leather, seat, dash, and partial door panels..
Benny's Auto paint of Nv. did the Custom Exterior Paint Job. Paint is several coats of Ocean Deep PPG Black Pearl with Harlequin Flames and Silver and Magneta Graphics and rhen tastfully pin striped it. Truck has new glass throughout.
It has a Snugtop Tonneau Cover with carpet in the bed, also the battery has been relocated to the bed area.
The interior has Vintage Air HVAC system. Al's Rod Shop of Reno Nv. wired the complete truck aand installed the Wabbits custom woodgrain dash. It has a chrome tilt wheel steering column with a Wood grain Mahogany rimmed steering wheel. Pioneer Stereo installed by Unique Sounds in Carsson City Nv.
Also under the hood it has a chromed master cylinder and Brake unit. The inner fenders of the truck are so clean you could eat off them and the radiator has a dual electric fan setup up to cool the engine.
Truck rides on 20" x 10" Boyd Coddington wheels in the back with P225-35ZR20 NITTON tires and the front are Boyd Coddington 18" x 10" with NITTON P225-40ZR18 and I have a spare for the front. another 18" Coddington.
