Burgundy and Black work real well on the classic lines of this Chevelle. It's also been built real well with an attention to detail and quality of workmanship that shines through on the outside, inside and even underneath. It looks like the very idea of a vinyl roof was created for this particular car. The chrome tracing the side window frames from the top of the windshield to the point where it reverses direction arcing up and over the rear fender highlights the smooth flow of the lower body from front to rear. The rich Burgundy color is perfect and is complimented by a black pinstripe down the side. Up front an SS 396 badge leads the way in the center of a black grill with three chrome bars and quad headlights underlined by nice chrome bumper. The hood flows back into twin power bulges with grills at the base of the windshield. Chrome trims out the wheel wells and there is a blacked-out panel between the taillights with another SS 396 badge, underlined by another sharp looking bumper with a couple exhaust tips peeking out from underneath it. Open the door and you will find a pretty simple Black interior that is in very good condition. The door panel has a pattern of horizontal lines embossed into it with thin chrome piping edging things out and an SS 396 at the center top. The bucket seats are sweet reupholstered in vertical pleats and two textures of vinyl with 396 Super Sport embroidered into the headrest. That same look as well as the embroidery is echoed in the back seat as well. A wrapped three-spoke wheel has racing flags on the center button and sits on a tilt column in front of a stock dash. The center console holds the horseshoe shifter for the automatic transmission as well as having a bit of handy storage. One more SS 396 appears discreetly on the dash in front of the passenger with a tight headliner and sharp carpets tying the look together nicely. Open the hood and you will find a healthy 396 motor nestled down in a neat and clean engine bay. There is a chrome Edelbrock air filter assembly as well as chrome valve covers and alternator adding their splash of flash to this engine. Under that air filter is a single plane intake manifold that mounts a Holley 4-barrel carb on an angle in order to get a more even mixture to the cylinders. Nice. Long tube headers wind out the bottom to Flowmaster mufflers which gives this car a really great sound. Power flows back through a 3-speed automatic to the rear wheels sitting on coil springs and located by trailing arms. Up front, control arms and coil springs work with the power steering and a beefy sway bar to help this car handle well. Power front disc brakes assure that you can haul this thing back down from speed if you decide to let the horses run, and the rubber meets the road through 275/60R15s in the back and 215/75R15s in the front mounted on those sweet looking chrome Torque Thrust wheels. Good looking, great sounding, and fun to drive. Come on down and check out this quality build presented in awesome colors.
