Description of 1967 Chevrolet Chevelle SuperSport |
First off let me start by saying I have had this car for 23 years and this is the first time I have tried to sell it. The car is a true 1967 Chevelle Super Sport 396 Four Speed car with a #138 vin. The car has a 350 in it now from a late 60s vehicle. It has camel hump heads, cast 4 barrel intake, and runs good. The mileage is unknown and may have never been rebuilt. The car has been a fantastic car and has always been garaged but it has sat for 10 years with very little use. I have always held onto this car because the body is perfect and straight and 100% rust free. If you want to inspect the car we can put it up on a lift and go through it. There is zero rust on the body, frame, etc. I have restored many cars over the years and have started with cars less expensive but it has always bit me in the butt when it came time to bodywork. This car is drivable but hasn't been driven regularly in 10 years. I have put 100 miles on her over the weekend in case someone wanted to drive her home. Tires have 500 miles on them but are 10-12 years old. I also noticed a shake or vibration when taking off from a stop that is new. Probably due to the car sitting a while. I do not have time to diagnose it or fix the issue. The car does come with the original 396 date coded block. The old owner gave it to me and it has been sitting in my warehouse ever since. Below is a list of what I have found to not be original on the car over the years. The Firewall ID cowl tag is missing. Seats appear to be from a 1968-1969 Chevelle. They look great and someone pointed it out to me after I owned the car for 15 years.Non Original Steering wheel.Original 12 bolt rear has been replaced with a 10 boltSome of the dash trim looks unoriginalCar has 4 wheel drum brakesSomeone painted the bumpers (not me)Someone painted all the trim around the windows black and its starting to flake off. (once again not by me)Someone drilled the hood for hood pins The interior is in great shape. The car is an original AC car. It has never been hooked up and the controls inside have never been hooked up either. I have never investigated or tried to get anything working. I just drove the car and enjoyed it. The paint is roughly 30 years old but still shows very well. There are some stains i noticed and some bubbling coming up from the prep work many years ago. Great candidate to patina up if you are on a budget. This car shares my garage next to Ferraris and Porsches and I don't drive it anymore and don't have time for anymore projects. This car can be enjoyed with very little work as it is or one of the nicest starting points you are ever going to find for your next build or restoration. Once again you can hop in this car and probably drive 1000 miles but I don't consider it a turnkey car by any means. It needs a few weeks of sorting out small things mentioned above. Please ask questions before bidding. Cash or bank wire only. I will help in assisting loading for transportation after the car is paid in full. Clear South Carolina Title in hand.
