The GMT400 platform is one of the best and most popular GM truck platforms ever produced. Introduced as the replacement for the square body, the GMT400 had a lot to live up to! Though consumers may have been initially suspicious, the GMT400 quickly proved itself a worthy replacement. Both the C and K versions of these trucks are sought after today both as a collector vehicle and a reliable workhorse.... Or to turn into something extremely custom and fun like...this clean 1994 Chevrolet 1500 Silverado This 1994 C1500 was originally manufactured right in the middle of the GMT400 era. However, in 2018, Dark City Customs & Performance of Swannanoa, NC gave new life to this old Chevy with a professional custom build. Photos you see in our gallery are of the build done by DCC. There are so many great attributes of this truck that choosing a starting point is tough! The paint and bodywork is of high quality. The body is clean and straight, and the paint has been done correctly. A rear roll pan has been installed in lieu of a rear bumper, and the front bumper has been painted body color along with the grille, mirrors, and door handles. This gives the truck a very clean and simple look! A painted cowl hood, spray in bedliner, and Ridler brand wheels finish off the mild custom look. Underneath the professional theme continues. In addition to being C-notched and lowered 7" in the rear, 5" in the front, a carbureted Chevrolet 350 V8 and 700R4 transmission have been installed. This C1500 runs and drives great. The exhaust sounds great, and it drives exactly how it should. The mild cam in the 350 gives this truck just the right amount of thump! Though it has single exhaust, it sounds glorious and the headers help with the flow. The engine bay is clean and organized, as is the engine swap. The 350 looks like it belongs there! Plus a lot of these builds leave out some steps, but careful work was taken to ensure that the power steering, power brakes and a/c were all still present and still working as they should. In perfect contrast to the gray exterior, the interior is in its original dark red color. Though it appears to be untouched and original, the interior is in excellent shape showing only minor wear on things like handles and knobs. Other than that, the driver's seat is the only other notable area of wear. Nonetheless, this wear is indeed minor and abnormally so for the age of the truck. A modern radio has been correctly installed, and the addition of aftermarket Bosch gauges for temperature, oil pressure, and voltage is a bonus. Overall, it is a clean, complete, and mostly original interior. All in all, this truck is a subtle but appealing mild custom build that is sure to turn heads just about anywhere you take it. It is a professionally built truck, and the quality shows. If you're in the market for a clean, tasteful, mild custom chevy 1500 then you may have just found your match!
