Description of 1963 Chevrolet Corvair

Great running, low mile Monza coupe in good mechanical condition. The interior is near perfect, and the original 102 HP engine runs evenly, with no lifter noise, smoke, or blow-by. It starts easily and drives well. Both chokes work properly, and the brakes and trans feel good. There's no noise from the differential or rear wheel bearings. The tires are decent, and all glass is good.

I depend on this car when the weather is nice, so it has a newer battery, new Delco voltage regulator, rebuilt carbs, recent NOS AC spark plugs, Clark's top-of-the line spark plug wires, all vacume hoses replaced, all oils refreshed, recently greased rear wheel bearings, newer oil filter, air filters, exhaust packings and hangers, and the steel cooling fan has been replaced with a later style lightweight magnesium unit.

Issues:

Headliner is torn, the front floors are shot, the engine leaks oil, and the body obviously needs rust repair and paint. The original gas tank is included, but it needs to be cleaned or replaced. The car drives just fine, but on an auxiliaryfuel tank.

The Corvair was originally Palomar Red (like the beautiful coupe pictured in one of the photos above), a color more often found on Monza convertibles or Spyders.

I know most people will want to part the car out to get all its goodies, but I'm hoping some loony tune will save it. Anything I can do to help, just ask, including helping to find a shipper or storing the car inside for a while. My number is fifty six thirteen, seventy one zero, nine fifty seven. I'm located near I-94 and I-80, just east of Chicago.
