Description of 1973 Chevrolet Corvette |
This auction is for a numbers matching 73 Corvette Convertible with 454, 4 speed transmission and air conditioning. Other options include tilt/telescope wheel, power steering, power brakes, power windows, leather int and AM/FM stereo radio. Please call 402 525 3979 with any questions. Calls only, no emails or texts please. It's the original color of Corvette Yellow Metallic. I've owned the car since 2013 and while I really enjoy driving it, I just don't get enough use out of it so I've decided to let it go. The previous owner said he owned it for close to twenty years and thought he was the third owner but there is no paperwork to prove past ownership before him. The body is very nice and doesn't looklike it's had any damage. It has been painted sometime before I bought it and the paint still has a great shine. I replaced the top and the front bumper, which was cracked. The glass is all in nice shape. The headlights are a little slow but operate ok. The doors shut good and the gaps are good. The frame has no special detailing but isn't rusty. The drivetrain is matching numbers including the block, heads, intake, carb, transmission and rear end. The engine must have been rebuilt at some point since it runs very well, has no smoke and doesn't seem to leak. I think the 4 speed trans must have rebuilt too since it's very clean. It also has the original shifter which works fine. When I bought the car it had headers so I bought repo manifolds from Paragon, installed those and ran all new exhaust. Brakes, shocks, tires are all in good shape. The late 70s Corvette aluminum wheels are in really nice shape but not original to the car. I do have access to some correctly dated rally wheels if the buyer would be interested. I replaced the leather seat covers, carpet, convertible top and some interior trim pieces. The door panels look to be original but have the arm rest covers put on them so I'm sure there are some small cracks underneathalthough they can't be seen. There are no cracks in the dash and the gauges look nice andwork as they should. The tilt/telescope wheel works like it should. The Air conditioning does not blow cold but the entire system is complete and the belt is still on the compressor so possibly it just needs Freon. Overall the car is a lot of fun to cruise in. It's not aBloomington Gold car but would look right at home at a Sunday car show or cruise in. It is being sold with no warranty. The buyer pays all shipping costs. |
