Description of 1985 Chevrolet Other

1985 Chevrolet C60 AmbulanceMileage: 60000Up for sale is my 1985 Chevrolet C60 Ambulance. It was a parade vehicle after being retired by the City of Sheridan CO years ago. Not sure of the timing. but when the City of Denver took over for the City of Sheridan. this rig saw little use. I have searched online for years. and I never have seen a "TopKick" or big box style ambulance of this vintage. Unlike the vans they use today. you can actually stand up in this rig. Perfect for a volunteer fire department. bug out vehicle. tow vehicle. or service vehicle (locksmith. welder. etc). I bought it to tow my race car. Has plenty of storage inside and out. Note: The airway seat has been removed to increase room and is available for someone in case they want to reinstall. Here are a few more details:427 CID/7. 0L EngineAllison 4 speed automaticDual Rear Wheels w/airbag suspensionWorking exterior/interior lights. sirens. and PATires purchased less than 3 years ago. Like new with a few thousand miles on them. Rear end seal replaced and rear end servicedHas the original paint. This rig was built by Frontline Emergency vehicles out of FL. Exterior and interior are likely an 8 out of 10. Lots of aluminum including the entire rear box. No real dents. Hood is fiberglass. I have the build sheets from the factory. as well as service manuals. Email me with any questions. Good luck bidding! On Mar-09-15 at 16:42:25 PDT. seller added the following information:Note: This vehicle does not require a CDL. Also. if you are concerned about insurance. it is insured today as a collector vehicle by Hagerty. No problem at all. Cost me $216 a year. In terms of road worthiness. I only drive it in the summer to local race tracks (200 miles roundtrip on average) or the local brew pub where it always gets a lot of attention. It has no engine/transmission/rear end oil leaks. and has never left me stranded. It doesn't run hot. Radiator fluid is bright green with no cooling issues. Transmission shifts correctly for an Allison. and it runs down the road straight (doesn't wander like some older trucks). Has a newer Edelbrock carburetor. Just did an oil/filter change. I expect someone can get in it and drive it cross country. but I have not done that. I don't expect any issues though. Has a nice Alpine stereo to drown out the road noise! It needs little things here and there:- AC belt is off. I never put one on. It is the older R12 compressor (big one). but could be converted to R134 I expect. AC hoses go back into the Box. so once complete you could run the AC in the Box. - Spotlights don't turn on. Could be a fuse or wiring. haven't tested yet. - Fabric in the pass thru between the cab and the box needs to be replaced. - Headliner is drooping. Needs to be removed. contact cement applied. and re-affixed. It is an old truck. and could use little cosmetic fixes here and there. but in great shape for being 30 years old. It was parked inside most of its life. so this is not an old rusted out rig. Just the opposite.
