Description of 1980 Chevrolet C-10 Custom Deluxe 4x4 |
This C-10 4x4 was a military spec truck which was painted white for service at the National Science Foundation's Kitt Peak national Observatory near Tucson, Arizona (you can see the perfect green paint in the interior and the engine bay). It lived its entire life in in Arizona until the previous owner purchased it and brought to Nebraska last year. I purchased the truck shortly after its arrival in Nebraska. It is a rust-free example with minimal surface rust on the hood and the body which have all been lightly sanded and clear coated to retain the rare patina. All surfaces and the under carriage are solid metal as seen in the photos. This is a very original truck. Everything other than the new shocks and the tires are all original. The interior is especially in great, original condition all the way from seats to the floor coverings. I had my local mechanic go through and do a major tune up which included going through the carb, new choke and putting in new shocks. The truck starts and runs great with no smoke. It also drives perfectly going down the road. Power steering works perfectly. It will, however, drop a few drops of oil on the garage floor when parked for a period of time. I fell in love with the looks and the condition of this truck and just had to have it. It was just the right patina for an old truck in great condition. But life gets in the way and other priorities come up. I have not driven it very much at all. As a matter of fact, I parked it in my heated garage the entire winter and it has been driven only once in rain. So, I would like to find a nice new home for it. I have taken dozens of detailed photos which can be seen by clicking the link below. You will find the undercarriage to be exceptionally clean and rust free. You will also find the original interior to be exactly what a 71,000-mile vehicle should look like. I am not a mechanic nor an expert. So, please check out the photos carefully as you bid. It is, after all, a 39 year old truck! As usual, the truck is sold As-Is and Where-Is with no warranties expressed or implied. You winning the Auction means you have committed to buying the truck. It is your responsibility to find and arrange transportation within 10 days of your purchase. A deposit of $500 via PayPal is required within 48 hours, with the balance due in 7 days of your purchase. I prefer a wire transfer but will accept a Cashier's Check form a major bank which can be verified. The truck can only be released after the funds have cleared. I have a clean Nebraska title in hand. I reserve the right to cancel bids by bidders with 0 feedback at my digression. I will gladly answer any questions to the best of my ability. Call 402-939-3802.
