1957 Chevrolet 210 Station Wagon Chevrolet marketed its mid-priced line as the "210" series from 1953 to 1957. The '57 210 shared bright body-side trim with the top-of-the-line Bel Air but lacked its gold-tone accents and ribbed aluminum body-side 'wedges.' All 1957 210s were closed models; 1953 was only year for a 210 convertible. However, Chevrolet's sporty two- and four-door hardtop styles were offered as 210 models. A restored 210 Chevrolet Wagon, with a few areas of paint bubbling, but decent brite work and chrome, and factory matching interior redux. This particular model was very popular however not many are seen still kicking around. There are plenty of Nomads around but few 210's in wagon form. Exterior Matador Red leads off in the lower portion of the car, and India Ivory covers the roof and the side wedges. Some bubbling within the lower panels of the red are noted. Typical of the 210, no gold ribs are in the wedges, just a cool 50's style Chevrolet badge. Two rockets jet out from the front of the hood, and just below is the iconic tri five grille, which presents in fair to good condition. The rear chrome topped fin covers are nicely preserved, and on the driver's side is the secret gas filler hinged trim piece. This long car has been fitted with wire wheels and thin white sidewalls and complete this typical American family of 4 plus cruiser. Interior Swing open one of the 4 large doors, and we can see restored door panels in charcoal and ivory vinyl with very clean and pristine handles and cranks. A full bench seat in front, and it has been recovered in the correct pattern 2 tone Charcoal and Ivory as well. Seat belts have been added and appears as the carpet has been replaced as it shows clean and stain and fade free. Upfront the dash and steering column has been sprayed with a texture paint gray. Gauges and all shapes are original configuration, and the radio and ashtray are missing. An original Two Ten logo steering wheel shows some wear and sports a circular inner horn ring. Another nice rear bench is seen in back, and the cargo area has been carpeted. Drivetrain Inside the engine bay which has seen a respray to match the exterior, we are met with an inline 6-cylinder engine which has a 235ci displacement. It appears with some patina but overall nicely showing. It is topped with a single 2-barrel carburetor and backed by a 3-speed manual transmission that is actuated by a tree shifter... (AKA 3 on the tree) Undercarriage Some new floorpans have replaced the originals, and the frame is solid and rust free. Body hangers, and rockers are in good condition as well. Throughout this car are areas where the weather-stripping has dry rotted and come loose from its surrounds. With 85,300 miles which are consigner stated original miles, a nicely restored 210 Wagon. A few paint issues, nice interior, and mechanically sound, its ready to load up the kids and all the trappings that go with a typical 1950's day at the beach, and head on out. One, two, three o'clock four o'clock rock....
