Description of 1969 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 |
1969 Camaro Z/28 X77 RPO (Regular Production Options)-Z28 Special Performance Package DZ302 M21 Close Ratio 4spd BU 3.73 posi 12 bolt 7171 Lemans Blue GM of Canada documentation Certificate of Authenticity (X77 Z/28) This is a straight and clean Z28 they drives very good. It was painted years ago in correct code 7171 Lemans blue. This is a highly original car. This is a clean survivor type car and not a frame off restoration. I've posted pics of DZ motor in the car. Pictures also included of the matching M21 and pictures of the rear end. * Also included is the block that the car was most likely born with (dates match of build, but rough area by oil filter is difficult to make out for certain. * Great documentation from GM and two previous owners have reached out to discuss. Joe 832 434 7788 This is what I gathered on researching block (not in car): So far, I've just looked at the block, but what is there matches. 3956618 is the casting for a 69 302/290 4bolt main block. V0303DZ is a Flint built, March 3 production Z28 code, so it does preceed the shipping date as it should and the 617053 VIN sequence falls mid March at Norwood, so that agrees with the shipping date. Only question is the vin stamp doesn't appear below the engine code stamp. However, here's what nastyz28.com says: "In 68-69 model cars, the serial (VIN) number of the car the engine was installed in is stamped next to, or under the engine code ID.Starting in 1970, the serial number is stamped either above the oil filter, somewhere on the block pad (in front of the cylinder head), or on the transmission flange somewhere. Chevrolet issued technical service bulletins to indicate which engines were to recieve a vin stamp, so who knows what could have happend (or not happened).†Crank, trans and rear end info: 3941178 casting number is a forged 69 302 crankshaft On the transmission-it does have the correct last 8 of the vin stamped in it, but it also has correct date and casting number.P9B25B:P=4 sp Muncie9=69 model yrB=February25=25thB=M21 3925660 casting number is a 68-69 Muncie aluminum case 4 speedThe rear ends weren't stamped with VIN's, but the date code works for the carB=February28=28th day9=cal. year I'm not any expert, so don't pepper me too hard. However, I'm ready to move on. Might be open to a late model something...GT3, vintage 911, 911 Turbo S or maybe something else. Joe 832 434 7788 |
