Description of 1966 Chevrolet El Camino base

Super clean 1966 base El Camino.
I obtained this car about two years or so ago. It had been in conditioned storage for about 4+ years before I got it. When I got the car I had the car gone over mechanically. All the fluids changed, new battery, cleaned out carb, checked brakes, and added new tires. I had the original gas tank pulled out and had it cleaned and a protective coating installed on the inside of the tank. The car has been a reliable weekend cruiser. It is complete car that only needs a few maintenance items, not a problem project car. Enjoy it day 1 or start getting ready for SEMA 2020.
The good:
  • 327 v8
  • Automatic transmission
  • power brakes
  • power steering
  • runs and drives great. Steers straight, stops straight
  • Bucket seats
  • Super cool subtle pin stripping
  • Except for an older repaint the car is very original
  • Radio, lights, speedo, turn signals, all work
  • The body work (except the tail gate) is super straight (see photos)
  • There is no cancerous rust
  • New tires. Chrome rally style wheels.
  • Vinyl tonneau cover included (not pictured)
The not as good:
  • The fuel gauge not working. I just purchased a new fuel tank sending unit that I'll include with the sale.
  • There is a dent in the tailgate (see photos)
  • There is some paint peeling on the front cowl/windsheld area. (see photos)
  • The wiper motor is not working
  • There are a few very small bubbles in the paint around the gas tank door (see photos)

I am not sure if the mileage shown on the speedometer is accurate.
Happy bidding. I do not ship but can help ccordinate with your shipping company. This is a great car but I've got to make room for other projects. I originally thought I would make this a hot rod project but didn't. I did purchase (but didn't install) 2" dropped springs for the front to lower the front end a bit. I'll include those with the sale if the vehicle is purchased with the buy it now.

I've tried to describe the car as accurately as I can. If you have specific questions please reach out and I will answer what I can. I have more photos I can send if that is helpful. I have a clear Texas title in my name.

Forgot to note. I replaced the dual mufflers with new Turbo style mufflers. They are not loud but have a good sound.
