The C3 or third generation of Corvette was built from 1968 through 1982 and undeniably went through some of the harshest times for automotive history with fuel crisis, a cold war and safety expectations. However, the Corvette had several things going for it, a relentless following and a killer styling that has stood the test of time. Yes, the power was less and creature comforts were lacking in the beginning but as they evolved so did the clientele. One of the coolest design changes actually came in 1978 the Silver Anniversary of the Corvette, the fastback rear window that in my opinion is the most stylish of body styles. It offered increased cargo and visibility as well as better aerodynamics for the car that would put out near 200 HP with its base L-48 engine mated to a automatic it could travel to 120 MPH and for the time was no slouch. As for this particular extremely well sorted car it features from what we can tell the very nice presentable original paint with a newer interio minus the door panels. The car was purchased by our consignor in 2005 and at that time he put all new gaskets in the engine and transmission and a new A/C compressor that is still functioning perfectly. A brand new set of tires was just installed with under 50 miles on them. This car is very clean and the underside is very tidy. It is nicely optioned with A/C, power windows, power brakes and steering. The car starts with the snap of the key, shifts perfectly, goes down the road true, leaks nothing and is ready to be enjoyed.
