1966 Chevrolet Impala SS Hardtop. It was a dramatic change in 1965 for the entire Chevrolet lineup. The previous boxier body style was abandoned for the sleeker fastback look to move forward into the next, more hip, generation of the American automobile. The long lines gave it a lower leaner look while still keeping enough room inside for the passengers. These styling cues carried into 1966 with subtle refinements. The SS trim was still the performance version with the higher horse power V8s, stiffer suspension, bigger brakes, and upscale interiors. This individual is an true 168 code SS with the very rare and desirable 427 VB with 425 horse power and documents to back it up. The engine is a CE block, because we all know what happened to those first motors, with a factory high rise aluminum intake fitted with a Holley 901 4V carb. Finished in correct Tuxedo Black with a correct stunning White bucket seat interior with console with working gauges and it looks fabulous. Enhancing the visual horse power are the 15 inch Rally wheels with center caps and trim rings fitted with 215/70 and 275/60 BFG black wall radials. The paint is very nice and the chrome and stainless are nearly new. There is an aftermarket 4 speed and 3.23 12 bolt posi rear end it goes down the road with little effort and will give the next lucky owner years of cruising pleasure. Obviously there is a nicely detailed engine bay and a completed trunk including spare, mat, and jack and full Dual exhaust that sound awesome. This rare Big Block Impala comes with the Car Shipper documents included. Showing it went to Chadwick Chevrolet in Laurens Iowa equipped with the 425 horse power 427, 4 speed and 3.31 posi. When it comes to rare big body Chevys this has to be one of only a handful ever built with this drive train configuration and in a stunning color combination. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity, don't let it slip away.
