Description of 1947 Chevrolet Other

This 1947 Chevrolet Fleetmaster has that unmistakable vintage charm that comes from having such a complete post-war machine that has all the right classic pieces and even a few upgrades to make it a better driver.
There's an instant attraction to this car. After all, there's only a short period in our automotive history where they were giving the fenders such a long sweeping line that the doors needed to be a significant part of it. And the way these big steel units shut properly are a sign of proper care over the years. There's a cool two-tone with a nice metallic element in the brown, and the creamy tan top coordinates with the wheels. Its finish is far from perfect, but it fits in with the same well-earned charisma as the patina brightwork. There's plenty of Art Deco attraction everywhere from the grille to the taillight trim. Fender skirts, headlight overhangs, side wind deflectors, and an adjustable a windshield overhang are all part of that extra charm that you want on a car that represented immediate post-war America.
The two-tone continues inside. We especially like how the dual colors of the dash coordinate on the steering wheel, too. The style stays quite close to original, and so you can see more of the Art Deco details and the designer's love for symmetry. The tan and brown are also now joined by a period-style gray cloth on the door panels and seats for a vintage but comfortable presentation.
Chevy's hardy inline-six was the backbone of the company for decades, so it's a welcomed sight under the hood. You'll like the painted block, bright details, and overall tidy presentation. Plus, while it looks stock, this is a 235 cubic-inch unit, which was larger than what the cars were getting at the time. This was also upgraded to a 12-volt electrical system, an alternator, new cork gaskets, and a newer stainless exhaust. And you'll love the control that the column-shifted three-speed manual transmission gives you over this classic powerplant.
We know there are plenty of people who see this as the base for some cool builds, but we also just love this for the true vintage charm it already has. Don't miss this classic Chevy. Call today!!!
