Description of 1970 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible |
This 1970 Chevrolet Corvette convertible strikes a nice balance of vintage and upgrades. For example, you get the numbers-matching V8 and four-speed, but they have been rebuilt for added performance. So dig into the rest of the details of this triple-black classic made to be enjoyed. This Corvette has been with the same owner for nearly 15 years, and in that time there were nice investments to make a distinctive ride. After all, Corvette people know there was no black paint offered in 1970, but these Stingrays just look so good in a midnight appearance. So not only was this upgraded later in life, but there was a fresh clearcoat application about 7 years ago. So it has a nice gloss that loves to highlight all the well-creased curves of this C3 Corvette. Contrasting the color but matching the radiant look is all the brightwork, including the sharply pointed front bumper, two-piece rear bumper, rocker trim, and optional luggage rack. And for added distinction, there was also an upgrade to 17-inch polished Foose wheels. Beneath the black folding roof is a full black interior that completes the ultra-desirable triple-black package (exterior, roof, and interior.) Newer carpeting, a clean dash, and comfortable bucket seats shows this has been given the right care and investments. The whole car is built around the driver. The three-spoke sports steering wheel on the tilt/telescope column to give you a good view of the large speedo and tach. The center stack is dominated by auxiliary readouts (including a working clock,) and below that is an AM/FM/cassette stereo for upgraded driving music. And you just know that bright shifter is calling out for your right hand. Under the hood is the numbers-matching V8, and it has the kind of fresh look that tells you there have been plenty of investment here. It was rebuilt about 9 years and 10k miles ago. It's now a 355 cubic-inch unit with a Holley 700 double-pumper four-barrel carburetor, Summit aluminum intake, HEI ignition, and Hedman long tube headers. It's a strong-running motor that makes a terrific sound out of the Flowmaster dual exhaust. And you're in full control thanks to the numbers-matching Muncie M20 four-speed manual transmission. It was rebuilt around the same time as the motor and now includes a Zoom clutch. Even the undercarriage photos show a clean presentation of a restored vehicle that has been treated with care. But more than just look nice, a classic Corvette is great for driving. That's why you have power steering, four-wheel disc brakes, and modern performance tires afforded by the wheel upgrade. The sale comes complete with the owner's manual, build receipts, and restoration photos. The factory never gave you a triple-black 1970 Stingray, but this one delivers what you want and does it with quality. Call today!!! |
