- 1970 Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS454 Badging.
- Hello and thank you for bidding on my car. I am "Thinning of the herd" as the saying goes. I am down sizing my collection of vehicles. No time to drive and enjoy them all, so i am letting a few go for the next care taker to enjoy. This is a BEAUTIFUL Monte Carlo SS454 tribute car. Done EXTREMELY well with attention spent on the details It looks as if the factory produced this vehicle. All of the emblems and moldings and trim are correct for an actual SS454 factory built car but for far less money. You can actually drive and enjoy this car, win trophies at the local cruise night spots and take the family for ice cream in it. You wont be disappointed in its looks or performance. You will have to be ready for many horns honking at you, thumbs ups and waves while you are in this car. People just do not see super clean first year Monte Carlos every day. People will approach you almost every time you get out of it, usually asking what year it is or how long have you had it. It creates excitement and makes smiles, its that kind a car. I will accurately describe it. The body is super straight and shines amazing as you can see in the pictures. The gaps and panels line up great. The doors, hood, and trunk all line up very well and open/close with ease. There is one minor spot of rust starting on the passenger side rear quarter panel under the molding. It is the last photo of the gallery. Most people do not even notice it but its there and I do not want to mislead any body. It is what it is. The stainless steel trim is bright and looks great. The front bumper looks terrific but the rear bumper is starting to show its age a little bit. I would call it a driver quality rear bumper. Chrome is getting thin and minor pitting has started. The glass all around is BEAUTIFUL and not all scratched up. The windows roll up and down with one hand very easily. All of the door seals and weather stripping are soft and not brittle. The window felts are still soft and flexible. This car was parked indoors for most of its life. I cannot express how clean and impressive this car actually is. The interior is in outstanding condition. The door panels, rear seats, front bucket seats and carpet have all been replaced. Auto meter water temperature, oil pressure and tachometer gauges have been added under the dash and work properly. It is even equipped with the factory front shoulder belts that clip into the headliner area. Rare option from what I have been told. The factory Rally wheels are the correct color with the correct 1970 center caps and beauty rings. Front tires are BF Goodrich T/a Radials size P255/60R15 and the rears are BF Goodrich T/a Radials size P275/60R15. But do not let the big tire size fool you. This car still breaks them loose with ease. The drive train is a BBC454/4bbl with a 1968 Muncie M22 "ROCK CRUSHER" 4 speed tranny and a 12 bolt posi traction rear end. I am unsure of the rear end ratio. The tranny recently had all new bushings installed and shifts with ease. It is actually a very quiet rock crusher. It was also previously rebuilt and a job well done. The engine bay is very clean and sanitary .It looks as it should as you can see in the pictures. It has power steering and power brakes. The front brakes are discs. The trunk is also super clean. It has the correct decals and has been splatter painted as the factory applied. I do not like when people just paint everything black. Again this car had attention paid to the details and it shows. It also has the correct jack, lug wrench and full size spare Rally wheel. A well detailed trunk. The under carriage is super clean as you can see in the pictures. The gas tank was replaced. It really is impressive. No rust at all, even in the common areas. All seams are great and frame rails and cross members are BEAUTIFUL. I may seem a little long winded but I want to accurately describe my vehicle to you. I have an original sales brochure and a box of manuals and catalogs for this car i also have a thick folder full of receipts and a box of misc. spare parts. I encourage anyone interested in my car to come and view this beauty in person or to send someone you trust. I have a lift at my home for easy viewing of the under carriage etc. It goes with out saying that i am selling this car AS IS WHERE IS with NO Warranty implied or otherwise stated.
