Description of 1967 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 496 Tribute |
This 1967 Chevrolet Chevelle has extra big block power, extra comfort from the A/C interior, and plenty of extra shine from the distinct paintwork. And as you continue to look over every inch, you'll see a coupe that was given big investments to be powerful, useful, and absolutely distinct. There's just no mistaking this '67 Chevelle. The smooth body contour lines and flying buttress C-pillars, it all makes an impressive statement. Plus, the factory correct Ermine White has been given a very cool upgrade. There's a blue pearlescent metallic glow in the finish that gives it an extra pop especially when people see it up close. It's also evident that a lot of care went into to keeping the panels straight and the gaps uniform. This one keeps its premium Malibu trim, but the SS-style hood and polished 15-inch American Racing Torq Thrust wheels also hint at this coupe's big power within (more on that in a moment.) While the exterior has a little extra pearlescent glow, it really gets taken up a notch inside. This was born with a turquoise interior, and you can see some of that stock-style glow in the nice door panels. The same look goes for the seats, but this is far from factory-issue. The front buckets are borrowed from a later model vehicle to give you added high-back comfort. They were upholstered to match the theme, and even given the comfy cloth inserts. The rear seats and dash pad were done to match, too. The ample wheelbase translates into quite a bit of space, so there's more than enough legroom to keep your passengers happy - even the tall ones. Everyone can enjoy features like the AM/FM/CD stereo and cold blowing R-134A air conditioning. But the best treats are reserved for the driver. There's a grant sports steering wheel, a floor shifter on the center console, and plenty of additional gauges (including a large column-mounted tach) to keep a good eye on what's going on under the hood. The engine bay is stuffed with plenty of big block power. This is a fresh 454 cubic-inch V8 monster that has been enlarged to a 496ci total. It looks nice with plenty of shine surrounding it on the valve covers, air topper, alternator, and more. Plus, they enhanced and fortified this powerhouse with Keith Black pistons, chromoly rings, King bearings, H-beam rods, double roller timing chain w/thrust washers, ARP bolts, stainless valves and springs, Comp Cams "Mutha Thumpa" camshaft w/ matching lifters, Magnum roller rocker arms, and Magnum pushrods. It inhales deeply with Holley dual-feel 750 CFM four-barrel carburetor w/electric choke and a Merlin intake. And this V8 exhales with authority as Hooker Super Comp headers feed the H-pipe dual exhaust. The TH350 three-speed automatic was rebuilt to handle the power with a new 2200 rpm Boss Hog stall converter as well as a new shifter and linkages. The suspension received solid investments, including the upper front control arms, boxed rear arms, new bushings, and springs. There's also power steering, wide BF Goodrich T/As and power brakes with drilled & slotted discs up front. This is a shining and intimidating big-block coupe that's a cool mix of vintage style and a ton of substance. Call today!!! |
