Description of 1994 Chevrolet Camaro |
Scroll down for additional photos and videos. In 1994 the 1LE option consisted of the following:
I purchased the car in 2018 with the goal of entering local autocross events as well as the occasional track day. I wanted the car to be safe and reliable so I treated it to new brakes all around and new front wheel bearings. A complete fluid flush and change of all systems was performed using quality fluids. It also received a rebuilt optispark distributor (from the 'optidoctor'), vented MSD cap and rotor, AC Delco waterpump, new plugs and wires and all new belts and hoses. The timing cover seals were replaced while the water pump and distributor were off the car. It was also fitted with a 'turn one' power steering pump and a set of UMI bolt-on subframe connectors. For rolling stock I went with a set of 17x9.5 C5 replica wheels along with ARP studs at all four corners. The tires are 275/40/17 Nitto NT05's that were fitted this year and have less than 1K miles on them. I have receipts for all of the work that has been done under my ownership. The interior was in pretty nice shape when I purchased the car. I updated the fire extinguisher, replaced the sagging headliner, installed new roll bar padding and deleted the sunvisors. There is a small hole in the carpet below the brake and accelerator pedal - likely from heel-toe braking. The console lid is broken at the hinge (like pretty much every early 4th gen Camaro). These are available reproduction now, but I never use it so it doesn't bother me. The dash has no cracks or warpage and the seats have no tears or rips. The paint is 100% original. It does have a nice shine to it - but there are definite signs of wear. There are various scratches and nicks and the front bumper has a multitude of marks from tire rubber and debris (from it's time on track). There are no dents and there is absolutely zero rust - the underside is very clean for a northeast car and it has never been driven in the winter under my ownership. The previous owner removed all of the decals that were on the car and all of them came off cleanly except for the one in the center of the rear spoiler. He placed an SCCA decal there to cover the missing paint. I used photos of the car from it's early days on track to find and purchase all of the product decals that were fitted to the car originally. These will come with the car so that the new owner can return the car to how it looked 'back in the day' if they want to. The car still presents very well but if I were keeping it I would have the front bumper and rear spoiler refinished. The car starts instantly every time - it runs fast and smooth and it is suprisingly quick (the 4:10 gears are a big performance improvement over the stock 3:42 gears). Oil pressure is good and the car never overheats regardless of the temperature outside. My wife and I drove the car to a number of autocross events in 2019 . We would arrive, put the magnetic numbers on, open the exhaust cutout and run all day, then drive the car home - it's never left us stranded. COVID put a stop to a lot of motorsport events this year but we managed to squeeze in a track day at Summit Point in September. We drove the car from PA to WV and back and ran the main circuit for four sessions without any issues or problems. I would not hesitate to drive it anywhere. I have a folder full of documentation and receipts that will come with the car along with the original race decals and a reproduction window sticker. The car also comes with the owners manuals, the center caps and GM lug nut covers for the C5 wheels, the Hypertech tuner and a car cover (not pictured). I have the original 16 inch Z28 wheels and tires in very nice shape that are included as well as (see listing picture), two sets of keys, an Ashley Chevrolet dealer plate, floor mats and rear divider. There is no spare wheel or jack. This is a fun car that is sure to appreciate over time. It can be taken for a coffee run or cruise in one day, then enter a track day or autocross event the next. It could also be returned to stock if that's what the new owner wanted to do. I welcome and encourage prospective buyers to inspect the car before bidding - I will also work with any third party or 'on behalf' inspectors as needed. My wife and I are relocating overseas and sadly we cannot take the Camaro with us. I can store the car at no charge for a short time after payment is received and will gladly work with the new owners shipping company.
