Description of 1966 Chevrolet Corvette

Understand up front, this is a PROJECT CAR. This Corvette is missing the engine, transmission, shifter, clutch, and fan shroud in addition to some brackets, bolts, and small miscellaneous. AND, most everything will need to be restored or replaced. So it is obviously not operational. I will try my best to give details for the major parts but just understand this is a Corvette that needs a lot of work. Would be a good candidate for a rest-o-mod or, like is being done with old trucks, a retro-mod. I started the bid at $14K because 14 is my lucky number. Sold with no reserve and no returns. It brings what it brings. Please study the photos for completeness and condition as this Corvette is being sold as is. A winter project. The Nebraska title is clean and clear in my name (not salvage). This is how I received the car and how the previous owner received it. eBay required that I list a milage. The odometer reads 25015 but that is probably not accurate. It rolls easy so can be pushed or pulled onto a trailer. On the up side, this will probably be the lowest price C2 listed on eBay.The Corvette was most likely a 327, side exhaust car, but it appears to currently have a big block rear differential (stub shafts with caps rather than U-bolts). The back lower panel is correct for side exhaust. The body and chassis are very sound. On a scale of 1 to 10, 10 being show condition, the paint is a 1. I am not a body guy and can't guarantee it but I don't see where the car has ever been hit. The Trim Tag shows that the car was originally Nassau Blue. It must have been repainted years and beers ago. This frame is very solid with the normal surface rust. I couldn't find any areas where there is actual corrosion damage, even where they normally rust through first (where the frame rail ends at the rear of the doors). The chassis is complete. The seats obviously need recovered. The driver's side seat frame has surface rust but should be useable. The passenger side seat adjusting rails are really corroded and will need to be replaced (they are being reproduced). The door panels are aftermarket and the carpet is gone. The passenger side dash pad is cracked, the driver's side is not.The soft top bows are partially disconnected but all the parts are in good shape. Not corroded or bent and should be an easy restoration. Besides the frame and body, the condition of the bows is a plus. The knock offs are of course not originals but appear in good condition. The tires have good tread but may be very old and should be replaced. Brake calipers appear to have been replaced at some time but I obviously have no way of knowing the current condition. There is a spare tire carrier tub (cracked but functional) but no hanger bolts or spare tire/wheel/jack. The side exhaust pipes are small block and not installed (see photos).Speaking of needing replaced, the radiator for sure looks like a throw away. But on the bright side, it is normal to replace with new anyway so there are no heating issues. The gas in the tank looks really bad.The bumpers are straight and good candidates to have chromed. The windshield moldings are not damaged. The doors open and close, the windows go up and down, the wing windows open and close, and the rear deck lid opens and closes as does the hood.I am a rookie at selling cars on eBay. A friend of mine is and he says I should require a $500 deposit through eBay and that the final balance be made by bank wire/transfer within 7 days following the end of the auction. So that is my requirement. This Corvette is available for inspection in Springfield, Nebraska. So there it is. This is the best I can do. If there are questions, please ask. I will assist with loading when being picked up. Must be picked up within 14 calendar days following the end of the auction. Just the fiberglass body alone is worth the starting bid so this Corvette will sell.
