Description of 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 454

Up For Sale"Mean Green" a SS 454 LS6 barn findI bought years ago and have known the car since I was 8 years old, car has never left the Wisconsin area.Authenticated by Patrick Glen Nicholsand in the Kansas City SS 454 LS6 registry.Final assembly date according to NCRS shipping data report was March 26 1970. "L" stamp on the cowl tag denotes SS in most cases.Lets get into the details, it is a 48-48 Forest Green color with 791 Ivory bucket seat interior delivered to the Bob Johnson Chevrolet dealership in Wausau WI. Options include A01 tinted windows, A51 bucket seats, D55 console, G80 positraction, LS6 454 450 HP motor, M22 transmission, T60 heavy duty battery, U14 tach & gauges, U63 am radio, ZL2 cowl induction, ZQ9 4.10 axle package/heavy duty cooling and Z15 SS 454 package. This is a perfectly running car that can be left "AS IS" or completely restored if you wanted to go in that direction. The original motor spun a bearing in its early start of life by the original owner and it now has a CE warranty 512 LS6 motor dated 1st week of May 1970. Original muncie M22 four speed transmission with vin stamp and original CRW rear axle still survive on the car and are only one day apart ! No build sheet was found within the car.Car does have some day 2 add ons like rear slotted rims, ladder bars and headers that were there when I purchased the car.Along with the photos I have posted a video as well. When I got this vehicle, I got it all road worthy, the following things have been rebuilt and refurbished.Rear axle bearings, seals and new gears, new u-joints and balanced driveshaft, all new rear brakes and hardware, turned original rear drums, new rear springs and air shocks, all new fuel and brake lines. New gas tank and GM sending unit, original M22 was completely rebuilt with high quality italian gears, new McLeod clutch and resurfaced flywheel, new hurst competition plus shifter, all the front and rear suspension bushings have been replaced, perfect front end alignment, new front shocks and coil springs, turned front rotors with all new brake pads and hardware, flushed the original harrison radiator, rebuilt original 811 water pump, rebuilt original 418 starter, original 291 heads, BB master cylinder rebuilt by White Post Restoration, new flowmaster exhaust. New GM motor mounts, 6060 water pump pulley, 291 AB crank pulley, original 064 seven blade fan with clutch, correct 569 intake and original 4557 holley carb, distributor and alternator are re-stamps. I put a new camshaft in and all new gaskets, when heads were off its still standard bore with gm pistons so the dealer just short blocked it back in early 70, original born with cowl induction air cleaner. Cowl induction hood is functional with all born with pieces. Car still has the original rear quarters with stampings, and all born with glass, all gauges work with exception of clock. New front tires on the original SS wheels and new drag radial on the rear. New seat covers and foam, along with new carpet and headliner, car runs and drives and draws more attention than a restored LS6.
