Description of 1956 Chevrolet Bel Air/150/210 |
Here is a 1956 Chevrolet BelAir 4 Door Sedan. I am told that this car was originally ordered and bought new by the Mayor of Oklahoma City. Oklahoma. I cannot verify that. But there are oil change stickers in the door jamb from Oklahoma City. from the early to mid '60's. The car is a very solid. original car. The rust that I have found is mainly concentrated to the trunk area. It does need a tailpan and the very back edge of the trunk floor (butts up to the tailpan) and a very small hole in the spare tire well. The only other rust found was a small place in the driver rear dog leg (door jamb). The inner wheel wells. floors. floor braces. inner rockers are super nice. The driver front fender is not original to the car. but is as close to NOS as you will find. The passenger fender is 100% rust free. All of the doors are beautiful. The hood is also really nice. I bought the car from an owner that had started to tear the car down for a basic restoration. but never finished it. I know these cars very well. and it is a complete car. with exception to the windshield. I do not have that. Any parts that are not seen in the photos. I have for it. All of the stainless is very nice. Also included are a new tailpan. a pair of Fender Skirts. and a new side molding clip set. This car has the very rare. factory installed Air Conditioning. The air is 100% complete and in good condition. I'm told that the air worked. until the previous owner removed the condenser for restoration. All belts are still on the car and the compressor still turns. Original fan blade. 2 groove balancer and pulleys. all brackets. etc. are still attached. The engine is the original 265 Power Pack. 4bbl. Rochester. dual exhaust. and is also complete (including air cleaner). I have not run the car. but I have put a shot of starting fluid in the carb. and the car starts right up. I have done this a few times. just to make sure that the car will run. The original radiator is still in place and still has green antifreeze in it. The wheels are the originals. as are the wheel covers. The car was parked in the '90's. inside. and hadn't seen daylight until I brought it home. The previous owner had already repainted the dash. I reinstalled the original A/C dash vents. speaker bezel. clock. speedo. and wiper switch. so they wouldn't get misplaced. I do not have any dash trim that is good enough to use. I was just going to buy new. Car has standard. drum brakes and would need to be gone through. The original door panels are good enough. that they could be used as a driver. The original seats were damaged by the previous owner. but I do have the correct front and rear seats for it (will need recovered). The car would be a fairly easy restoration or it could be put back together as a driver. This solid of a car is getting very hard to find. Save money by not having to replace floors. fenders. hood. trunk lid. doors. etc. This car is sold "As Is. Where Is". No warranty implied. Buyer must pay $500. 00 Paypal deposit within 3 days of auctions end. and the remaining balance due in cash at time of vehicle pick up. Buyer is responsible for shipping or delivery. But I will help in any way that I can. Car is located about 35 miles South of Cincinnati. Ohio. I have clear title. in my name and the original key. If there are any questions. feel free to let me know.
